No safe path or staircase to access the beach. My spouse has RA, and it would’ve been too dangerous to try to get to the beach. The room was completely outdated, and the entire building smells like mildew. We expressed concerns about the constant door slamming (which went well into the night and started back up at 6:00 AM.) and the child running up and down the hallway upstairs. The receptionist was confused as she said they try to not book families with children on the second floor. We went to the bar to get some appetizers and a couple drinks. The bartender, Scott was great, but it took an hour to get a couple of appetizers which were almost inedible and cold. The website makes the place look so inviting, but we left very disappointed. It was a waste of $160.

I was very disappointed in the upkeep of outdoor property. The “private beach access” was only if you could crawl over large rocks. Security from outdoors was not there. Anyone could access the floors from outside. The restaurant was extremely slow to take orders and food arrived almost cold. Also found a hair in my pancakes this morning. They didn’t charge me but still… overall the view of Lake Michigan was wonderful and access the bike trails was also great! But I would not stay there again in future!!

It was a nice simple room on lake side. Beautiful view! Absolutely worth checking out! The sounds of water splashing all night was awesome! Great staff and seems well kept. Comfortable beds!! Nice shower and plenty of towels. Great price too.

Charming old hotel on the beach! You could open your window and hear the waves. If you like coffee...High Lift coffee shop has amazing coffee just a 1/2 mile away.

This property is very tired. Carpet bedding mattress should be replaced. The room air quality was very damp and funky. Location was good and the beach walk along Lake Michigan was great. Didn’t try breakfast. Dining room was half empty but they told us there was a waiting list so we left and found another option nearby.

When i went to check in, i was told that my stay was at 8/19. But my confirmation email clearly stated 8/15.. the lake side room was not available, but i did get a park side room. It worked out (didnt have to sleep in my car) but why was the dates wrong??

We arrived late at night after sailing on the Badger. There were 4 other rooms of guests from our ship. They knew we were coming, but yet still we all had to wait for our rooms. That's ok I guess, but the lone receptionist was standing behind a huge metal gate separating her from the rest of us. We literally had to hand our credit card to her through the slats of the gate to get checked in. It felt so scary. And then right after we got to our room my kid spilled an entire water bottle on their bed and we needed a dry blanket or sheets but the receptionist was not able to leave her area behind the gate and therefore could not get us any new linens. Like, come on. If you are going to lock yourself away at least be prepared! It was so late, we were so tired, and now we were sleeping on a wet bed. The whole place was outdated and musty. I thought it would be charming but it just felt icky. And I paid extra for a view of the lake so we could wake up to a beautiful sunrise - but our window was literally obstructed by a massive staircase! And we were on the first floor so we had people walking by the window all morning going to the beach for walks. Not what I had envisioned at all. Would not stay there again, would instead stay closer to the Badger.
