Time to update it!

The hotel service was excellent, staff were really pleasant but the hotel needs an update as the rooms and many common areas look tired. It also has very thin walls and you get awakened by noise at night.

Friendly and welcoming staff. The air in the room was very poor. CO2 levels on 1800-2200 if we didn't open the window. The ventilation just circulated the air. Had to sleep with the window open to get the co2 down and made the room cold and damp due to the February weather.

Poor Hotel and poor Restaurant

This is a Hilton with a Marco Pierre White restaurant - 2 big names and should be exceptional but man, what a let down. Hotel is old and tired. It’s clean but looking very dated and in need of a lot of refurb. We stayed on ground floor in accessible room with no Queen Bed as advertised. Checked in but not told where room was, no info on check-out times, no breakfast times, where breakfast is, no WiFi info or spa so had to ask and work the rest out. Room was cold and incredibly hard to heat up. Very noisy in the morning with doors auto closing hard. Restaurant was another bad experience. They had no beer on tap (all not working) and sat down at 8pm. By 9:30 it was empty with just us two on a Friday night..!! Starters were a mix of great and massively poor with bits missing. Wife had cod and was great, I had £70 Tomahawk steak which was over done and came off the bone cut into slices so kind of defeats the experience and the large bone just then got in the way. It also tasted really strange - like a rump steak and no char-grilled taste. I got brought the wrong sauce and when I said should be garlic butter sauce, I got a massive block of regular butter with a hint of garlic in a gravy boat..!! Missed my £4 onion rings which I only remembered the next day. It was a massive let down overall and Marco would be ashamed if he knew. Breakfast was usual hotel standard but only one coffee machine as one not working. Empty buffet stock not being refilled. Left really disappointed..!!

The rooms are very dated, bathroom was nice but could do with painting the doors. The spa was poor hot tub not working, locker room was falling to pieces the walls were crumbing and the majority of the lockers broken. Far from 4 star. Wouldn’t recommend.

Okay but watch out for hidden costs !!

Check in was easy, the room was very cold and it took ages to warm up. I do not understand how breakfast can be quoted as £12 and then when you pay it is £18.50 -not the best and unimpressed by this, needs to be sorted as you are rippling people off.

Hotel was lovely and quiet. But I guess if there was an event on then it may be busier. Hotel was good. We had issues with food and restaurant but that is not down to hotel. Room service food was cold but they quickly fixed it and restaurant was ok but not great for egg intolerance..... Most sauces and so on had egg in them. This is not a big issue but simply worth noting

In need of attention to detail

Nothing negative to say about the staff, all very engaging and helpful. Hotel looking run down in hallways and rooms, wallpaper cracking and damp in the room I stayed in. Coffee machine faulty, TV faulty, alarm clock time wrong. Breakfast served 0630-0930, no fresh food cooked from 0845 so I had the dreggs and had to request an egg be cooked. All fruits gone and not replenished.

Very tired. Dirty and in need of a good clean

Hopeless. Check in was slow and was not made aware that the main bar area was closed. Had to find out for myself where to go for a drink and food. I sat myself down after getting a drink and although other guests came and sat after I had they all got spoken to by waitress offered a choice of menus and in some cases even had food before I had been given a menu. I asked if there was a choice of menu and to be told no just the 1 I had. I went to order 10 mins later to be told they don’t have the starte that I wanted. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t tell me this when giving me the menu.

Lovely stay in kingsize deluxe room. Everything was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff Emily was really helpful - thank you! Only disappointment was that the spa hot tub was out of order which would have made the stay absoloutely perfect.

Nice restaurant and liked that it had pool, gym & sauna facilities. £5 charge per adult to use and kids can only use during certain times. Breakfast was very good, the hashbrowns were lovely. A little dated decor and some wear & tear around the hotel but a comfortable stay overall with 2 young children.
