The hotel itself is a little tired in places but the staff more than make up for it with literally the best service I have had in a UK hotel in a very long time. The tea/coffee refill station is a nice touch too
Enjoyed evening meal with my daughter in the restaurant. I was freezing in my room and I was provided with a heater with a smile. Easy for access to University of Sheffield Halls of Residence for Endcliffe and Ranmoor. Parking is not easy.
An unfussy hotel but spotlessly clean and comfortable. Staff went over and above to accommodate our needs. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. We come here every year to attend the Hallamshire hospital and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
We were lucky enough to have a large room in the original building. The shower was amazing and the well stocked snack station on our floor was a real treat.
Lots of choice for breakfast and staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Good gluten free provision for coeliacs too.
Excellent staff really helpful and well informed. Room was comfortable and liked the supplies of tea coffee and tunnock’s!
Staff were great in managing dietary restrictions for breakfast.
The only disappointing things about the Halifax Hall Hotel in Sheffield was that we were only there one night.
Lovley room and bathroom both spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and it created a lovley atmosphere.
Enjoyed drinks in the bar before having a great meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was just as good. Lots of choice and the quality of the food and presentation was excellent.
We just found the hotel a little hard to find, maybe a sign at the bottom of the drive saying Halifax Hotel where the sign says Halifax Hall Conference rooms would help.
Would definatley recommend this hotel.
Freezing cold Room & Outdated Parking System –
My stay got off to an unpleasant surprise when I checked in at 10 PM and entered an ice-cold room. To my disbelief, the window had been left wide open despite the outdoor temperature being just 1°C (34°F). Combined with a comically small radiator (2'x1'), the room took hours to reach a comfortable temperature. It’s baffling why such poor judgment was exercised in preparing the room for guests, especially during winter.
The parking system is equally frustrating. Instead of a permit emailed in advance/or a kiosk to register car, the hotel used paper system. This meant collecting a physical permit from reception after check-in, then trekking back to my car (often parked far from the building) to display it—a tedious and time-consuming process in freezing weather.
While the hotel may have its merits, these issues overshadowed the stay

Beautiful clean property in a good location.
Beautiful roll top bath and bathroom. Unfortunately toiletries on the wall were not in easy reach while in bath. No hairdryer in room but I would imagine if we’d contacted reception they would have provided one. Not ideal. Just a few little niggles but otherwise a lovely place to stay and great breakfast.
