Even thought the hotel is old, due to aging city's economy and population decrease, however it was well maintained and clean. Staff was very kind. The view from the hotel room looking at Shimabara castle was fantastic. Location is very convenient, close to the arcade shopping area although most stores weren't operating, close to samurai residential street and carp street. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great price and location.

My room on the street-facing side had a great view of Shimabara Castle and the ocean. It was a very spacious room, with a huge refrigerator. There was a microwave in the hall by the elevator. There was also a tatami space as well as western-style furniture. Itโ€™s only a few minutesโ€™ walk from the castle and the bukeyashiki. There was also a top sheet on the bed as well as a comforter. It was also very affordable. On the negative side, there was a constant gurgling sound coming from the A/C unit, even though it wasnโ€™t turned on. I needed earplugs to be able to sleep. Also, the stopper in the bathtub and especially in the sink didnโ€™t work well at all.

Old established hotel with a family mart located just beside. There are 2 flight of stairs before reaching the entrance of the hotel. Parking lot is located diagonally the hotel with no fee charged for hotel guests. However, most of the city area has free parking. Hotel is about 7mins drive from Shimabara port. Overall, an average stay for us.
