If you want a cheap convenient place to stay along the river in Singapore then this is a good option. My personal issues were that the gym was under refurbishment and despite the size of the hotel, the gym itself became very crowded with more than two people in it. The other issue I had was with the coffee shop on the ground floor which was run independently of the hotel, and despite offering a breakfast option didn’t open till after 10:30 am and on Monday didn’t open until nearly 1 pm. Bedroom was comfortable, towels okay, toilet paper okay, and in terms of getting around Singapore, ready available taxis in the area. It is walking distance from a fairly good supermarket as well. For those of you like me who don’t drink, they had no 0% alcohol free drinks/beer. So if you want somewhere convenient very well priced and adequate then this is a good option. I personally will probably look for better alternatives in terms of facilities for a gym which I thought was poor.

So the hotel is a lot like Singapore itself. A lot of show for showiness sake. It's a nice place and there was nothing wrong, just stiff I would have planned differently. Location: 3/5. Not really on Clarke Quay and you can't get to Chinatown without crossing some sort of bridge. If you're a public transport guy like me, getting your suitcase to/from can be a hassle. Room condition/maintenance: 5/5 Room design: 3/5. There's a bed, a desk and a bathroom. That's really all you need, right? So why are there 11 (yes, 11) light switches? You know that's just going to cause confusion. Maybe less switches and more drawers, of which there were two, both at floor level. The bathroom was cool, otherwise the room would have rated lower. Also, mine was a courtyard view. There is no courtyard -- it's an air shaft and you're eye-to-eye with the people in the hall on the other side. Breakfast: 5/5. One of the most complete I've ever seen and the indoor/outdoor seating is spacious and attractive. Staff: 4/5. I had to go back twice for my key not working.

Everything about the service location, cleanliness and amenities was excellent. The only thing that could have been better were the shade umbrellas on the rooftop. Only 2 umbrellas were functional, and more shade poolside would have been ideal.

the property is nice and in a good location. The rooms are small but clean. My biggest problem was the A/C in the room would not cool the room and would automatically shut off after a preset time. Asked to have a/c looked at and the maintenance guy came up and looked at it and said that it was operating normally.

Every staff member I dealt with was friendly and helpful from your security officer to your receptionists and your kitchen and wait staff. Your receptionist, ET, was just the best. She helped me very much. I think you should consider putting her in a more responsible position with higher pay. I could see that she is a dedicated, hard working and responsible employee. If I come back to Singapore I will definitely stay at your hotel.

Consistently Excellent!

This was our fourth stay at Holiday Inn Express Clarke Quay and honestly, I don’t feel the need to stay anywhere else. We initially chose it because of its great location. It’s within walking distance of China Town, the MRT, and dozens of restaurants along the river. But we keep coming back because it just checks all the boxes: the staff are welcoming and attentive, the amenities are great, and the rooms are supremely comfortable. It’s a very busy hotel, but it is so well-run that we’ve never had to wait long for any kind of service. Even when the hotel is full, the rooms are very quiet and conducive to a good night’s sleep. We have never had a bad experience and fully intend to stay there again on our next trip to Singapore.
