A very good value for money Hotel. Super-close to the underground station, variety of breakfast options in the area. Bedsheets were very clean and WiFi was fast.

It's not at all like the pictures make out. Inside you have no idea it's a historic hotel. Just feels like a cheap run down hotel. It's overpriced. No breakfast . No sitting area. Bed and shower are good. Location is fantastic in middle of Chinatown .They have a bar downstairs which is very noisy . I think there are better choices at this price point in that area

One look and we ran! Bedroom little bigger than the bed. No wardrobe or chest of drawers. Copious stains on carpets in hallway. Shower hose over the toilet pan. Not a good area. Awful experience. Fighting for refund from Expedia, lets see if they can be decent about this awful, awful hotel/hostel.

The hotel is in a great location near to restaurants, bars and metros. Other than that very poor. Room was tiny even though we paid for a deluxe room. Mould on shutters and other areas, duvet didn’t actually fit the bed meaning we were fighting over it in the night!! Had a balcony with no seating and room was over the bar with music blaring out till the early hours and the cleaners start around 5 am and are cery nousy

You get what you pay for

Works for a cheaper stay in singapore, and it is nice to at least have a window for a decent priced room. We were there over the weekend though, and there was a lot of noise from the bars, and street. It was very, very loud. Also there were barley any electrical plugs that worked in our room, which was very annoying.

Give this place a miss!

No fridge, rock hard bed, no working TV channels, no way to connect Netflix, broken toilet seat, no hand soap supplied. Not worth $200 a night.

The hotel 1929 is convenient for chinatown, and transportation. The area is nice but bedrooms are directly above a noisy street during evenings. I was kept awake for hours on a Saturday night, and wasn’t able to change room. I had requested a quiet room so the hotel staff did refund me for some of the cost, due to the noisy room.

Staff are very nice. From the cleaning lady to the reception. location is an advantage. The windows are not soundproof hence you can hear the people loud music outside. Affordability it is very good for budget conscious travelers.

Prefer a Cardboard Box to this Hotel

This was an atrocious excuse for a hotel - upon arrival the toilet seat was broken, there was brown water leaking from the toilet on the floor of the shower, there was black mold, flies and spiders in the room and on the walls. When asked to switched rooms, the staff said there were no other rooms and then proceeded to send a staff member to look at the issues who was completely high and incoherent, then she proceeded to come to our room and offer a measly 10% off of the stay for these issues. To make matters worse there was a full on DJ and club next door with music blasting through the hotel until the late evening and for the cherry on top, there was a crackhead slamming on the door down the hall from 3:00am to 6:30am - I had to call the front desk at 6:30am and tell them which is wild as there's cameras on each floor... which clearly are not in use. I'd recommend staying on a nice piece of cardboard on the side of the road before I'd recommend staying here again. Avoid at all costs!
