The room could have been better prepared for guests. The bed was missing pillowcases and was not well made, though I had brought my own linens, which helped. During the night, the radio alarm unexpectedly went off at 1:00 AM, which was disruptive. The mini-fridge also froze the food I had stored, which was inconvenient. The room's door was difficult to open from the outside, even after it showed as unlocked—I had to use quite a bit of force to get in. The continental breakfast was very basic and didn’t meet my expectations for a downtown Smiths Falls location. On a positive note, the reception area feels modern and welcoming, but beyond that, the property could benefit from some updates to match that first impression. Suggestion: A quick check of rooms before guest arrival, ensuring alarms are reset, doors function smoothly, and breakfast offerings are refreshed would greatly improve the overall experience.

Main complaint "cleaning staff left our room open". Hotel is aware the door needs to be closed firmly because it's not aligned properly. Said they instruct the cleaning staff to make sure, yet our room was found open after they cleaned. Area is in a questionable secluded area of town with a pub inside the hotel. One would want a secure room. Asked for a manager to call us since one isn't in until 8am after we were checking out. Never heard from the hotel at all.

The place is run down. It has posters of areoplan from over 5 years ago. And the "photo of the property" is of the comfort inn down the road. The doors are hard to open. The furst room they gave us i had to shoulder to open but couldnt. And the sexond room wasnt much better. Over all the place is really run down

The hotel is way outdated, we got a room with a balcony, wich you couldn’t even use the balcony cause us was covered with bird poo, wich was beyond disgusting, I’ve never see a hotel this dirty, the smell, from the lobby to the elevator to the room was a whole disappointment, I would never recommend this hotel to stay at, we were beyond disappointed, I had to sleep with our clothes on, pubic hair left on the washroom counter, hair left in the bath tub, we didn’t even get to shower, it was awful,

We only stayed one night, the people at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating, breakfast was ok. The hotel it self needs some work the cabinets in the breakfast area looked like they are falling apart. The hallway had a funny smell and room was outdated and the bathroom sink was all scratched and bath tiles had some mode, queen bed felt more like a double so a little uncomfortable for two people. The elevator could use some cleaning too.

The beds were comfortable and clean as was the room. The property on the other hand was in disrepair and very sad to see. I’m sure at one time the property was gorgeous. It has so much potential but very dirty. The floors are stains on all floors. The window sills have not been cleaned and there are lots of dead bugs and spider webs. The property also needs a lot of work, landscaping and repair. The staff were also laking in experience, professionalism and hospitality. The pub (Rob Roy’s) was nice and clean with nice staff and patrons. They provided a lot of information on sightseeing and where to find places.

WE have stayed here 3 times now over several years. We stay here because it is close to the Rideau River and the locks. It is very quiet and a short walk to a park right beside the locks. Nice to sit and watch the boats come and go. The rooms all have balconies, which is nice, but no chairs to sit on out there. The lobby area and continental breakfast area is very clean, neat and new looking. The rooms are in terrible shape, and the air conditioning is noisy. The staff is great, and if you need anything , they will do their best to get it for you. The rooms all need a total new look and renovation. The beds are comfy and clean. No bugs, but the rooms are very shabby. For what you pay, you deserve better. We probably won't stay here next time unless the place changes a LOT!!!!!

The hotel was clean and staff were friendly, but it was all extremely rundown. Ceiling was flaking and falling apart. Thr balcony looked as if it was crumbling away, and was covered in pigeon feces. Elevator did not feel safe at the top floor (noticeable and wortisome shaking as it reached the 5th floor, everytime). Vagrants living on the lot made for uncomfortable dog walks. Shower took almost 5 minutes to.produce hot water. I would not stay here again.
