Started out great, then fell apart quickly
I was upgraded to a nice room as the hotel was not so booked. I had to extend my stay and booked it in person. They downgraded me to an ancient room and didn't even ask me or tell me about it. Worse, it was completely inconvenient to get into and out of. Massive construction going on making it a disaster to get in and out of. Not sure if I'd ever stay here again as a result. Clearly an incredible hotel century ago, but functionally dysfunctional now. They made the mistake with me of giving me a crap room after clearly booking a Tier 1 room. Stupid management or employee decision as a result.

Old world style hotel with beautiful rooms very close to Serdica metro and major sights in Sofia. The square outside is being refurbished with a little noise discernible during the day. Otherwise, staff efficient, attentive and pleasant. A comfortable stay.
