Staff waited late (midnight) for us to check in, leaving front door open, which was much appreciated. Check in was quick and convenient. Some noisy people in the hallway, not the hotels fault but the door wasn't particularly sound proof. Nice sized room, area doesn't have much around it but it's convenient for the train station or getting to town/harbour. 20 minutes from hotel door to the airport via a train.

If you want a good nights sleep I would not recommend the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything so it is not soundproof at all. But if you have a conference there maybe try the ibis across the road but for dining the food was lovely, breakfast as well and the staff very helpful and lovely.

It transpired that in arrival I had not been logged onto the computer and although given my room cards I was not officially there. This obviously raises concerns should I have needed to be contacted or any emergency. All was rectified for the following morning

Friendly staff. Very clean. Enjoyed a swim but pool is small so don’t be disappointed if you are a pro swimmer fine for me dawdling up and down with it to myself. Lovely sauna. Breakfast is a bit expensive so didn’t bother with that. Bed was comfy and warm.

Reception, bar and restaurant areas were pleasant and well presented. All staff were friendly and efficient. The room was warm and there was no air conditioning ( we were aware of this when we booked). A fan was present in the room which we used. When we looked closer at the room condition it was clear that although clean, areas such as the shower could do with some repair. This wouldn’t put us off returning as it was mostly cosmetic. We had paid for breakfast when booking and found the buffet to have a good variety of options which were all of decent quality. The location of the hotel means that we would stay here again as the good points outweighed any bad.

Novotel for a Pre-Cruise stay
We stayed 3 nights at Novotel. The location is excellent for a pre-cruise stay. It is near stores and restaurants. Staff was helpful.

Nice stay, central location
Enjoyed our Novotel stay. The room was clean but I’m not sure it offered anything over and above a Travelodge, although it is priced above a Travelodge. The staff were friendly, breakfast was ample and it was nice to have use of the pool in the morning.

The staff really made the stay great. The morning breakfast team was great with our kids, and the front desk staff were quick, competent, and very helpful. The location can't be beaten if you have a cruise coming or going from Southampton.
