Check-in room. #15 right above party room .music sound ended midnight made us cant sleep at all. We required change room even worse in room #58 with life roach on bed. End up move to room. #45. This is my worse experience in travelling life.

The hotel is stunning, the staff are lovely, However, the day i stayed there was a huge wedding going on and i wished i knew this before i booked! Had Noice, arguing throughout the night, kids running up and down outside my room, then a fire alarm got set off at 5 something in the morning! So I literally had no sleep, so I just got changed and just left! I asked the receptionist why the alarm went off for ages in my room? She replied, sorry one of the residents from the wedding party decided to have a hot shower and steamed his room up!! I emailed the hotel to have a little rant , but they just apologised without any further action! So obviously I wasn’t very happy and thought it’s sad, I really liked the hotel, but because what happened and the outcome, I won’t be experiencing that again and will be choosing somewhere else for my regular stays now. The wedding was on a Friday and went on until the early hours! It’s a massive shame because it’s a stunning hotel.

We're repeat visitors but love the charm of this period building and surrounding grounds. Friendly and helpful staff, large well equipped rooms, really love the pool and facilities

With the exception of the lady on reception who appeared to be the only capable member of staff the stay here was so bad it was almost funny. Dinner was a complete disaster as very young staff had no idea what was going on as apparently no gas. Different staff telling us different foods available and we were told no coke or Pepsi only appletise or lemonade although there was Pepsi in the bar. A party of 25 ish arrived so was then deafening. A waiter apologised for the 40 minute wait but said they were trying to get starters out to the large party. It was agreed we would be refunded for our meal/drink . I told the receptionist the following day as we were still charged for a glass of wine. She said she would remove it but it was still charged to my card after departure. I wasn’t surprised that having emailed since leaving I didn’t even get the courtesy of a response. The building is lovely but needs refurbishment. There was a bucket in the reception catching water and furniture and carpets need replacing. Constant queue at reception with varying complaints and no sign of any management. Waited 20 mins trying to get served at a bar with 1 member of staff who was apparently attempting to do orders for a wedding so gave up. Such a shame as it wasn’t particularly cheap but poorly managed and sadly neglected.

No concerns regarding the room that was lovely, but do think they need more experience staff in the bar and just a small detail they need a little sharper knives with having children and elderly food was very hard to cut up with a blunt knife. Massive choice of breakfast but left out to long so bacon was rock hard, and eggs over cooked such as shame just small details could make the hotel outstanding. With a little updating but overall value for money.

The room was worn and tired and needed some upkeep and modernisation , breakfast food and choice was good but you had to keep asking the staff for plates, bowls and cups as none had been put out .The parking spaces were too small for modern cars , yet again some money needs to be spent on modernising the parking facilities .

Nice place to stay.

Room and spa facilities were excellent. Food in the restaurant was very good although the service left a lot to be desired. Bar staff didn’t know what brandy was when asked. All other staff competent and very helpful.

I did not like: 1. My repeated telephone calls and messages from 10.00 am were ignored until 6.30 pm 2. There was no hot food and it took one and a half hours to produce a cold salad. 3. The room was dirty. 4. There was no hot water in the morning. The staff admitted that they knew about this but took no steps to advise guests. 5. Several days later I am still awaiting a receipt for money I should never have been asked to pay. There was no value for the £181 paid. I will never recommend this hotel.
