Woodlands Lodge is an old building, therefore "oldness" comes with it but if you're after a comfortable, quiet place to chill out peacefully, this place is wonderful. It's doggy friendly, hey even the comfy seats in the restaurant are reserved for dog owners only, but despite not being dog owners, we had the most wonderful relaxing stay here. It's slap bang in the middle of the New Forest, so walk out the back door & you're literally in it! Staff were so helpful & friendly, and so was the food (we had both breakfast & dinner one day & both were delicious). Would happily go back here anytime.

The positive, I loved the gardens and the forest access. The bar, breakfast and dinner areas were also beautiful and comfortable. As well, it was so nice having an in house restaurant. The food overall was delicious and high quality. On the negative, the room was beautiful, but the walls are paper thin, making it so we could cleary hear neighboring guests' conversations. Not to mention the creaky floors. So if you are a light sleeper or want to sleep in, probably will be challenging if not near impossible.

A very easy and relaxed week with decent food and spectacular walking from the gate in the garden. Very dog friendly indeed. Staff were all excellent.

I cannot give an accurate review as I was unable to stay due to the fact that a guest member travelling with me felt unwell. Spoke to reception re cancellation, they asked me to contact Expedia , which I did. The outcome no refund as the hotel said I’d been a no show.

We liked the location and parking was fine. The staff were friendly. We were unaware that it was a dog friendly hotel and were allowed in the bedrooms next to us. There was some annoying barking but fortunately not through the night . We are not dog people so for that reason we would not stay there again.

We booked this property very last minute whilst stranded nearby and we are so glad we did. As soon as we walked in the staff made us feel at home. The lady at the reception, Tilly, went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect stay. We had forgotten some essentials with it being an unexpected booking and Tilly brought us what we needed from home the very next morning. It was so kind and thoughtful. We enjoyed time in the garden and the location was fantastic. Very close to the forest and also to Peppa Pig World for those with young children. We will be back!

Lovely and relaxing, traditional hotel in the fore
It was a lovely hotel with pleasant staff although perhaps a bit understaffed for the size of the hotel. The food was overpriced thouhgh, a salmon ceasar salad was £22! And it wasn't a huge portion either. I would book again as it was a lovely quiet spot and great for people with dogs. The room was lovely, a bit tired in deco and I had the most amazing patterned toilet! Comfortable bed though and a corner room with two opening windows was brilliant for a warm evening.

Couple be so much better
Rooms poor, need a lick of paint! Bathroom was great. Smallest TV going! Had evening meal there, average at best, small portions and expensive. Didn't have breakfast as evening meal was so poor. Friendly staff though, shame property let them down and the food.

Pre Cruise Stay.
We arrived after an 8 hour drive from Scotland to be asked if we received the message about the power cut on the possible all day Saturday, due this issue if we wanted to ensure of a hot shower and cooked breakfast to be ready before 8am, not ideal start to the holiday but other than this I have no complaints really, 2nd stay here and food was good, rooms comfy, staff friendly and polite.
