The hotel was clean. We always stay in a pet free, smoke free hotel. We will return to this one when we travel through Illinois. The only negative thing was the noise of the ac.

Very nice stay at the Carpenter!

Our room was clean and we had great and prompt service. Bathrooms were clean as well with good amenities. This a great hotel that is close to downtown but not smack in the middle. Easy entrances and exit.

Great Place To Stay

We had a very good stay at the hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was well kept and very clean. The hotel was very quiet qnd peaceful all night.

The hotel itself is managed very well and all the staff was friendly. The hotel is very clean as well are the rooms. I'll be staying there again on my next trip to Springfield. The only drawback i have is the helicopter traffic from the nearby hospital.

Do not recommend

One of the rooms had a musty smell and the tub and shower had mold all around the edges. The other room was out of soap and shampoo. Also the carpet beside the bed was peeling away from the wall. Wouldn’t recommend. We stayed a couple of years back and no issues but this time will be our last.

Hospital surgery

Was having surgery 8/22 and came up 8/21 because had to be at St Johns at 5:30 am. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
