Motel is in decent condition. The bed was okay; the pillows were thin. TV worked fine. Shower had a good pressure and temperature, but was a bit cramped. Breakfast was decent. The room had a built-in dehumidifier that ran constantly. There is only more road noise from US 1 than I would expect. The dehumidifier or A/C also bothered my allergies. The motel charges a parking fee, which is kind of ridiculous because it's not within walking distance of downtown or any attractions. The motel runs a courtesy shuttle to downtown, but at an additional fee. In summary, this place is okay, but if you can afford to spend a little more there are better options I recommend taking instead.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Southern Oaks Inn. We have a large dog so finding a place to stay in the historic district can be a challenge. From checkin\out, Staff, Room, facility, outside grounds, morning buffet, Large dog park all great. The room had only one thing I would change and that is for a quieter dehumidifier. Room was very clean, Bed comfortable and generally the entire Inn is in very good condition; all well maintained. The Inn is close to the ocean and there is no way to shut off the dehumidifier, so that takes some getting used to in particular for sleep. The room comes with a large doggy bed, 2 collapsible dog bowls and some other bedding that we did not use for our dog. Parking is basically at your room door as this is a motel style Inn. Morning buffet has adequate selections to eat and what I we had was good. We did not use the pool but it looked very nice. The shuttle service is very good taking you to either the Historic downtown or Vilano beach for $10 a day (the shuttle is dog friendly). Would highly recommend with or without a pet.

The room was clean and had every thing we needed. It was clean. The breakfast was ok but there were flies in the room and swarming all around the garbage. This is not a reflection on the hotel but the water stinks and is awful to drink. There needs to be a filter on the water system with the city!

Lots of great reviews.. don't understand it, Shuttle to old town around $11, parking in the middle of nowhere,,, $20 Old school motel that looks like every old school hotel. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausage links oj, coffee, toast, pancakes , bagels. Just like all hotels in its price range and maybe not even done as well as many I've been too. .. Its the ok motel really ...That's it.

I found the staff to be excellent and rooms are clean. Great location. I wish they would offer the shuttle to the amphitheater for shows. I feel they s would be a great draw for me to stay more regularly.

Clean and comfy

So glad we found this place! After a not great experience with an Airbnb, we were able to book into this motel. Immaculate with outstanding service. In a great location far enough away from downtown but close enough to drive in. They have a shuttle bus that will take you to downtown for a small fee. There is also a hop on hop off type business right across the road. This will be our go to place but we got to Saint Augustine from now on.
