The hotel is beautiful! The private beach has breathtaking views and the staff are all friendly, polite and helpful. The drinks were good. However, I was extremely disappointed with several things: 1. Slow service, upon arrival I was informed that my room wasnā€™t ready and that I would have to wait to be taken to it (not a great start to a trip after a 4 1/2 plane ride). Also, there was always a wait to be seated in the dining area for buffet food and whenever I called for service to the room (I.e. room service/hospitality) it was always a long wait to receive my items. 2. Poor food options, upon receiving room service (over 1 hour after placing the order), the food wasnā€™t hot and the food was overcooked. They donā€™t provide many options for people who are pescatarian and or donā€™t eat beef or pork and the food lacks flavor (everything was bland). 3. Poor performance, overall I never had housekeeping provide service to the room except for one day (out of four nights) they didnā€™t throw out our garbage we had to ask them to remove it when leaving things outside the door to be picked up. They werenā€™t for a long period of time. They didnā€™t provide washcloths (for washing) and when asked, I was informed that they were ā€œcleaning themā€ so we had to bathe ourselves with towels instead, when requesting an iron, they provided that but didnā€™t have a board to use with it and they never followed up with assisting us with our luggage upon checking out, we had to inquire with them.

If youā€™ve had a good experience at a Royalton property before that doesnā€™t mean the same is true for this location. While Grenada offers great views, pretty beaches and kind people; our stay at this Royalton was not ideal. We first arrived there were several food items that were not available as well as no wash cloths. There were inconsistencies with the advertised times for the pool and when the pool was actually done being cleaned, we had no housekeeping for the first 3 days of our stay, a false alarm in the middle of the night and reduced AC in the evening were just a few of the negative experiences we had. When I shared with our butlers I was met with excuses. They did their best to improve the air for our last night and it was much better but by that point our vacation was over.

Worth it

Overall, it was a good experience! This was my first all inclusive and Iā€™m not a fan of it, but thatā€™s just my preference. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The resort is on the water so itā€™s very convenient. There are bars, cabanas, and activities to do on the campus. My highlight was a private tour I booked with Curtis Monroe. It was wonderful, we did sightseeing through the rainforest to the waterfall. All in all,Iā€™d recommend this to anyone who enjoys all inclusive. It was a safe, friendly, peaceful, and laidback environment.

When we first arrived the butler we were assigned to was rude and said he was overwhelmed because he couldnā€™t handle taking our bags to where our rooms were located even though we were a group of 7 people and we literally followed him and carried our own bag to our rooms. He said room service menu was open 24/7 so we ordered room service @11pm that night since our flight was delayed and we never got our food and no one followed up with it. Our hotel rooms had stained sheets and pillow cases, there was a huge black stain on the floor, the rooms smelled horrible, and we had to ask them to clean our room twice the next day. They left a beach bag in the room that was already used and stained with ketchup and they had to replace it. When we went to book massages, again they couldnā€™t handle booking 7 people at a time so they messed up the times then promised us we have to arrive an hour early for hydrotherapy (which is a pool of water jets that are supposed to open up the muscles before the massage is done), but there is no hydrotherapy at this Royalton resort! We wasted an hour literally going into the steam room and sauna room for 10 minutes each then waited about 40 minutes until someone came to get all of us for the massage. We went to Royalton in Cancun, Mexico and the resort not only was much bigger, but it was cleaner, it had more amenities, and the staff was more pleasant. Do an excursion outside this resort, itā€™s way better! Iā€™m never coming back to Royalton Grenada again
