A very nice hotel with lovely staff, but we stayed in one of the larger front corner rooms. While the view was nice with the tree lined Main Street, it is the main ‘highway’ through Napa, so there are a lot of cars and trucks passing by during business hours. It was quite noisy in the morning.

There are many pleasant things about the Wydown, but the hotel did not meet my expectations. When I arrived in the afternoon at around check-in time, I was advised that I was receiving an “upgrade” to a corner room. The room itself was lovely, but it faced Main Street. I was concerned about the street noise and called the front desk and asked to be moved elsewhere. I was advised that the only other room available was a similar corner room overlooking Main Street. No explanation was given why the premium room I had reserved was not available. I was offered the use of a white noise machine, which I accepted. Later that night we also turned on a Dyson fan in the room as an additional sound block. The problem is this. Main Street in St. Helena is also the main north/south highway running through Napa Valley, Route 29. The hotel is located on a block on which there is a traffic signal. Large trucks apparently make lots of noise when they decelerate to stop at the light, and then also when they accelerate to begin travel again. This room is on the second floor and this loud truck noise is not blocked out by either a white noise machine or a Dyson fan. There was a very loud truck at about 4:30 a.m., and at about 6:30 a.m. the loud truck noise began to come with some frequency. This is not the experience I was seeking from this hotel, and I would not stay in this room again.

Great location and walkable to many restaurants, shops and boutique wineries. Rooms are clean, however we were placed in an ADA-compliant room (maybe bc I booked on Expedia) so shower wasn’t as convenient but they had a nespresso coffee maker, and fresh baked cookies and waters in the evening. I would stay here again for the location.

The positive points of staying at WyDown hotel: This hotel is located in St Helena’s downtown on Main Street, even though hotel’s in a old building, but its lobby and rooms look very nice and very clean, it’s managers and staffs are well trained, they are friendly, and always willing to help. The first day after my husband and I arrived at WyDown, we couldn’t rest in peace because the heavy traffic noise from outside our room’s windows. The next morning I got an email from manager Michael, who promising to let us change room, by the afternoon we were able to move into a much quiet room. I’m very happy for hotel management’s quick response to our situation. Here’s some suggestions for the hotel: 1) improve the insulation of hotel’s windows 2) replace room’s tv screen to the wall which facing the bed’s headboard, not to the side of the bed. 3) add some simple morning bread toast or cereals in hotel’s continental breakfast

Perfect spot to visit the vineyards and walking distance to good food in every price range. The small touches, 2 luggage valets in the room, fresh baked cookies, staffed breakfast employee to ensure excellent service. Staff was friendly and solved small issues quickly.
