For the most part the workers try to be nice. Unsanitary rooms. Horrible food, no flavor, hospitality is poor, they don’t get it. They need people who excel in hospitality and resort management to teach them. The bathrooms are not clean, they re-use rags that should be put out in ditty linen . They throw the sheets on the floor and use the same sheets to re-make the beds. They limit the options for places to eat and there are periods when the breakfast is over , there’s no where to get food if you’re a late sleeper. This was. This was a royal waste of my good hard earned money. Never again. The way they handle utensils are disgusting. They leave them out, they handle them with their bare hands (the fork teeth) and after they’ve been sitting on a table, they put them back in a drawer and then put them back out for the next meal, all the while handling them with their dirty hands. The drinking glasses, they hold their hands over the top to pick them up; yuk. The tea cups were not always clean, you have to look in it before using it. This was the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had and the nastiest way of handing food I’ve seen. Food is also cold, they don’t maintain good temperature. No sanitizers in the restaurants; esp the buffet / a la Carte.

There was mold in this resort! I had to change my room 3xs due to the mold. There was mold in the dining rooms (the buffet), hallways, along with the room and mildew. They were serving water out of mildew containers. The girls were rude in the sports bar, minus one lady very sweet. The dark skin girl in the bar with a nappy ponytail very rude. They were serving uncooked food in the steak house and the manager was unhelpful. No compensation for all the issues I endured and I wouldn’t visit there again. The rooms had a foul smell I had to sleep with a mask and wear one whenever in the room. My friends experienced the same in their room as well.

The shower in my room had a mildew smell, with visible mold on the ceilings in the hallways out side of the rooms and on the walls in the buffet dinning area. Also, most of the staff had a piss poor attitude. They definitely need a refresher in customer service. There was no ATM machines that dispense USD, so bring money with you. The best part was the beach, pool and the Caribbean restaurant.

Title- Outstanding Service from the Hotel Staff and beautiful Resort I had an amazing stay at Royalton Antigua and the staff played a huge role in making my experience exceptional. From the moment I checked in, the hospitality and professionalism of the team stood out. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making the check-in process smooth and welcoming. They were always ready to assist with any questions or requests, whether it was about local recommendations or room preferences. Housekeeping did an excellent job of maintaining the room impeccably clean and comfortable. Every detail was taken care of, and it was clear that they take great pride in their work. Special mention goes to the names below for going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their kindness and attentiveness truly made a difference. To mention their names, Everley, House keeper Athencia, Butlers Atara Joshua Khem Benta German – Manager Alejandro Lamadrid– Regional Manager All of them above made our vacation truly amazing and an unforgettable experience. Very nice family resort. We had a great time at the resort. The food was amazing. There are many restaurants, 6 throughout the resort, Italian, Caribbean, Steak House, Buffet and the Sport. During our stayed, no reservation was required to eat at any of the restaurants. They have nightly entertainment with different performances and activities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this resort.

I stayed at the hotel while it was under construction, and unfortunately, the mold and debris caused serious irritation to my sinuses, leading to poor sleep and congestion. The building really needs to be remodeled in sections so guests aren’t disrupted by workers loudly babbling obscenities. The strong smell of paint and chemicals also made it uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the food quality and services have dropped significantly. I had to search for staff to serve drinks, and by the time they arrived—well into my meal—they brought the wrong drink.

My family and I have stayed at numerous Royalton resorts over the years, we have made may recommendations to friends and family. However after our 2023 Grenada we not impressed but still decided to give Antigua Royalton a try as the hotel looked amazing. The Antigua resort is very far from keeping with the “luxury restort” experience. From unfriendly check in to very rude and abrasive service at the restaurants. The only time we felt we were on a vacation was at Hunters where Dale was super friendly and went above and beyond to ensure our dinning experience was exceptional. Management needs to address the abundance of flies on tables and the open buffet at Marche. Imagine bottled water was hard to get, one more a child in our party was unwell and I was sent to the cafe then to the bar then to the lobby bar …still no water, I ended up going to the front desk to ask for water where I was told to hold on, after waiting for more than 15 mins my family left and ventured into town where we bought bottled water. The desserts at the cafe was redundant daily. When families go to an island for a vacation ( where we spend a lot of money ) the least we expect is good service and exceptional food. This is our last Royalton Resort…

The dampness and mold is surreal. More than I’ve ever experienced on any island resort. As soon as you enter the hotel room lobby the scent wafts at your face. I can’t even imagine how many spores we inhaled in our week there. The higher up in floors you are, the less invasive it gets, but it’s def too much to handle. The absolute best was the beach and beach access. We loved it and spent most of our time on the beach. We felt safe and unsmoothered. It was absolutely beautiful and picturesque. The food situation was basically as every other reviewer described. If you weren’t a diamond club member, you couldn’t eat until 9-10pm or ended up getting stuck with the buffet. Over all it was a nice time, but the majority of staff wasn’t happy to be where they were. And you could feel it in the service.
