Absolutely the most terrible vacation experience we have ever had. The check in staff was so rude and demeaning. We got there a day late and was still told we couldn’t get into our room that we were paying for until 3 due to procedure. This is after traveling for 33 hours and the airline losing our luggage. Our room keys stopped working the first night, I had to walk down there 3 times before they sent someone to fix the problem which was the battery in the door. I kept being told I had demagnetized it with my phone. So hateful and rude. The air conditioner in our room did not work until the last night there and that was after maintenance had fixed it 4 times. We requested two fans and never received them, requested a room change and was told there was nothing available. Whoever manages that check in staff should be ashamed of themselves. There were a couple of kind employees in the concierge that we were grateful for but I would rather stay at a not so great property and be treated with a little human decency. I would never recommend this Royalton to anyone.

This is an older hotel, and while it’s far from perfect, the renovated rooms are clean, modern, and quite comfortable. The real highlight — and the reason to come — is the beach. It’s truly a gem: calm, deep, and wave-free, just like you’d find in parts of Greece or Italy. The warm, tranquil water is perfect for long, safe swims, and especially ideal if you’re traveling with small children. The food is average. It could be better, but to be fair, the local food culture on the island isn’t a standout. The weakest point is definitely the so-called à la carte restaurants — long waits (sometimes up to two hours) for meals that are often underwhelming. All in all, this is a solid 3-star resort. It’s not luxury, but if you’re looking for a relaxing beach holiday with swimmable, serene waters, it delivers

Staff is rude..even after you tip them. No smiles, look bothered when you ask for a drink. They don’t clean the chairs or day beds by the pool or beach. Staff stated they are underpaid which is why they have an attitude.

This is my first time staying at a Royalton resort and my experience was not a nice one. The resort itself, the building, was nice. The food - what I got to taste was okay. They have many restaurants at this resort however you have to access it through an app. This app did not allow me to reserve any restaurants and there is an accommodation for this by speaking to a member of staff to book a restaurant, which leads me to my next point... members of staff are horrid in their treatment of anyone that is not white. I was told that restaurants were fully booked, I got through to one eventually and the food was terrible. My food was burnt,the staff were not nice, the overall experience was lacking in so many ways. I am from the Caribbean and my skin color is obviously not white which is what I attributed to the bad service and rude treatment from members of staff. The sports bar was ridiculous in that service was denied to us on our first night there at 9pm. The second day we waited over an hour to receive our food while the tables around us who were seated after us were served before us. I suppose it was again because my skin was darker than others. I swear I got better treatment from the stray dog that was there. He was always happy to see me and friendly. For the amount of money I paid, I am left disappointed, dissatisfied and disgusted that fellow Caribbean Islanders treated me this way. I will not be returning to this resort and would never recommend it to anyone.

Most employees were very rude and not personable. Alot of their employees were acting like they hated their lives and hated their jobs. If you work where you have to speak to people and deal with people, then maybe change your job if you are going to give people attitude all day. I have traveled to 39 countries and thus far, this has been the worst customer service I have ever received. I called the hotel a week prior to arriving to make reservations for my birthday dinner. I was told I could not make reservations in advance and had to wait until check in. When I checked in around 130-2pm and tried to make reservation for my birthday, I was told it was fully booked and I will have to eat at the buffet (which was outside in the heat, with food sitting outside in the wide open with flies and bugs flying over it) and had to make reservations 2 days in advance. I explained that I tried calling to reserve ahead of time and was told I couldn't do that and then when I arrive I received a different answer. I ended up not even having a birthday dinner because of all this misinformation. I called a second time in advance (about 2 weeks before arriving) in regard a different question and I am still waiting for a callback. I was told they will contact me and no one ever did. Mara from the coffee shop was amazing! She has amazing customer service and an amazing human being! Ranesha (waitress for the restaurants) was also another one that was amazing and had great customer service.

Terrible ended up eating out every day to get a decent meal which there are some fabulous restaurants but just not in this hotel.

The beach on the property was beautiful and vendors are not aggressive. This hotel has a chill 5.Not really.A party type of vibe. Entertainment was nice. Food was good but better fly control needed. I. Don't mind the cats or dogs hanging out because you know what it's their world too and it is common on all islands. Rooms were very clean and the butler service for diamond club was helpful.

I want to preface this by saying this was my personal experience and may not reflect everyone’s stay. That said, this was by far the worst resort experience I’ve had — especially surprising given my great stays at other Royalton properties in Mexico and the DR. I arrived at 4:20 PM (check-in was 3 PM), but my room wasn’t ready. When I finally got it, the room didn’t match what I booked. It was dirty, had half-empty cans in the fridge, a leaking shower, only one towel, and cracked tiles. An exposed, broken socket near the sink made it unsafe to use the hairdryer. When I raised these concerns, staff were dismissive, even rude. Servers at restaurants and bars often seemed annoyed to be doing their jobs. Food took 2–3 hours, was frequently incorrect, and water service was slow. We ended up eating off-site by the end of our stay. The beach views were beautiful, and the gym/spa were decent, but the pool was dirty most of the week despite guest complaints. Buffet staff rarely offered help unless you were lucky enough to get one of the few kind team members. Room cleaning was inconsistent, and the electricity/water briefly went out twice. If you’re a Marriott member, note that third-party bookings (like Expedia) don’t earn points here. I wouldn’t recommend this property. The service fell far below expectations and made what should’ve been a relaxing vacation feel stressful.

I stayed her for my 50th Birthday. I booked a swim up room and had access to the diamond club. My room was okay..Nothing spectaclar. The pool was nice, but i had to request that it be clean as it was private and. Ot attached to the .ain pool. I had Butler service that consisted of two Butlers. Rodwin was great. Unlike other perferred accommodations this diamon club you had to make your own drinks. Rodwin was kind enough to bring drinks to my room. And make them.for me.before ensuring i had a ride to dinner at the restaurants on the far end of the resort. He would also call or come by to make sure i didnt need anything. The other Butler...name is not event worth mentioning. She didnt do much of nothing! Where Ridwin made suggestions, this chic expected me to figure it out and then let her know. O
