4 travellers in a king suite as there was no other options to accommodate us. The bedroom was very nice but the pull out couch was extremely uncomfortable and the room was very tiny. Also there was a loud continuous knocking of pipes in the wall all throughout the nights.

I always stay here when visiting for business. Wonderful customer service! Check-in/check-out is quick and easy. Rooms are clean and having 2 restaurants on location was very convenient.

We were disappointed with what was provided in our (2) rooms - no crockery , no cutlery , no electric jug, only 2 glasses , and no housekeeping top ups of teabags etc over our 3 nite stay. Our requests through reception were met with either a tepid , or totally unhelpful , response. The decor is sterile and uninspiring. However the towels were fresh and thick.

Renovations must have been a long time ago. Design is drab, surface coverings from check in desk to hallways and room need repair. Room was dirty- hair in bed, food crumbs and a disturbing stain on the chair, bathroom had makeup smeared on countertop and mould on windows. Left immediately and booked a room at the JAG.

Decent hotel close to airport and downtown. Nice lobby and rooms were quite good. Close to groceries and restaurants, worked well for four nights. Free parking. Travel tip: You can park close to Terry Fox statue on Water St. for four hours free and walk downtown or hike up Signal Hill.

I was very disappointed in my stay at the sandman hotel. I had this room booked as a surprise for my son’s birthday. I arrived for check in at 3:20 to be told that my room was not ready and it would be another two hours. Another worker came out and told me that they were extremely busy and had 80 checkouts yesterday. However in my opinion that should not have delayed me getting my room because they should have adequate staff to clean the rooms. I was offered another room after waiting fifteen minutes in the lobby however the room was not suitable for what I had planned. I waited another fifteen minutes and at 4 o’clock I was able to go to the room I had booked. However by this time my son had arrived and instead of this being a surprise he ended up having to sit in the lobby and wait for our room. I would not recommend the sandman hotel to anyone who is on a schedule.

We had a great time as always. The room was perfect for what we needed and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the extreme amount of chlorine in the pool. My kids actually didn’t even want to go back to the pool before check out like they usually do because our eyes were actually burning and the kids couldn’t stop coughing when inside the pool area. Once we left the room, the coughing stopped completely. It was the only downside to our stay…but also the reason we booked the room for my son’s birthday. He wanted to return again this year after staying for his birthday last year. But we were unable to enjoy the pool area at all.
