I was so pleased when I first arrived at this property. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The Prosecco was a nice touch. Our room was lovely, but there were some issues. Firstly, we were advised not to close the balcony door if we were on the balcony as it locks and there is no way for the door to open from the outside. There were no emergency button on the balcony, so if the door was closed, I would have no way of re-entering the room. My hairdryer broke while I was using it but was replaced immediately. The grounds were very slippery. I witnessed an elderly lady slip and fall while walking from one area to another. I slipped several times. We were not allowed to open the pool umbrellas if even a little wind was present. If the hotel is concerned about their umbrellas falling over because of the wind, then they should consider securing them to the ground. The pools were not heated and the water was freezing cold, and considering the hotel doesn’t have beach access, it was a problem for me. There was a leak in the bathroom sink pipe by the adult pool and I informed a staff member but all they did was clean the puddle. I had to show staff a video of the leak for them to call a plumber. All this aside, the Hilton Malta was a beautiful hotel but it was the staff that made it better. Food was good except for the Blue Elephant where it took 2 hours for all our food to arrive.
