Overall my experience was good. It’s a beautiful building with the expected amenities and I had a very nice room. When I am paying $170 per night at a four star hotel, though, I have higher expectations. Things that I could forgive at a $110/night hotel I can’t overlook here. Service - The waiter in the on-site restaurant was generally clueless and forgot my order (which was not complicated) several times. I realize that finding competent help in the food service industry is difficult everywhere nowadays so I can almost overlook this one. Food/Beverage - Although I expect to pay a premium for food/bev in a four star hotel I don’t expect to pay $20 for a basic cocktail (in my case it was an Old Fashioned). In my opinion that crosses the line from expected upscale pricing into “price gouging” territory. Common Areas - There were large wads of bedding laying on the floor outside most of the other rooms on my floor. It appeared that housekeeping may have left them there after cleaning those rooms. It was there on the afternoon I checked in and still there the morning I checked out.

The Renaissance has the name of luxury, but their property displays trash. As you walk in it looks luxurious, but when you go into the rooms, they are unclean and not kept up properly. My room was not clean and all they did was replace the towels. This is not a place I recommend to stay.

Hotels.com states the wifi is free...it is not. It's only free if you join the hotel chains customer program. The shower doors wouldn't stay closed (the track isn't level)...not expected considering the "quality" (and price) this hotel boasts.
