Pros: fun themed hotel with great decor and fabulous breakfest I would call "continental plus". Most of hotel stafg was friendly. Cons: the entrance and bathroom in our room were freezing, while rest of the room was okay. Common areas were also cold (lobby thermostat read 66) The air handler in our room was incredibly loud as mentioned by other reviews. Finally, while everything was clean, most of the place looks worse for the wear. For example, our bathroom mirror had decorative peices missing from it and big scuff and scratch marks all over door frame like it hadn't had a deep clean or fresh coat of paint in way too long. Overall, I felt it was a quaint idea that lacked value for price.

Look but don’t stay!

Stop by to see the rather glorious lobby that’s a recreation of an old English mansion. But the reality is more like one of those mansions that has fallen into disrepair as its current owners couldn’t keep it up. Rooms are worn and staff isn’t attentive. Front desk explained that the large dispenser labeled “Hot Water” was hot hours ago but not anymore. Shrug. Used a coupon for a free drink at the bar. Bartender charged me for two drinks and a nice tip and scraped a fake signature. Front desk said I might be lying. Rooms are spacious but work. Parking is a nightmare as hotel guests compete with restaurant customers at night.

This is a hotel with its own unique charm. It especially works if you like old world, antique style. However, the hotel is not well maintained and not cleaned well or often enough at all. The bed frame had a thick film of dust that you could see a handprint of another guest who touched it. The rug in the elevator needed vacuuming. There were moldy, dirty crevices in the shower. The hotel is like a grandma’s house with lots of old things around and that aren’t kept clean. This unique hotel would great if it had a major uplift to make it fresh and was deep cleaned as it should be. We were there for just two short nights, so it served its purpose. The listing said a 4 star, but it’s more of a 3-3.5. The staff was helpful, kind and welcoming. They were the best part of our stay. The breakfast that’s included had good options and that area was clean.

Very cute inn with a couple of really fun bars, a Starbucks, and a nice common area. The free breakfast was actually good, and there's a great Vietnamese restaurant next door.

Check in was smooth went into room to do my normal inspection and the bathroom had a overwhelming urine and feces smell. I looked around and saw tissue paper on the stand that had dried feces in it. I went to wash my hands and the smell of urine became stronger someone had to be urinating in the sink. Immediately went downstairs to advise of the situation and they gave a different room. The new room was better it was very drafty by the window but that's what comes with stained glass windows that open vintage style. Breakfast was good, nice variety for sure. Would stay there again but this is a VINTAGE hotel, not historical so please understand it is not going to be modern. It is a themed hotel.

Will probably go back again because of location.

Thin walls. Noisy neighbors. No safe. No in-room fridge. No fan in bathroom. Light in bathroom across room from entry hard to access. Noisy heating/fan system. Not very clean. Very much on the low average side. Convenient location. Staff good. Breakfast was good. Fox & Hounds nice access but not much room to sit. Basso was very loud, food was good. Wait staff (Autumn) was outstanding. Nice access to Starbucks.

We loved our room BUT they gave us the wrong room so we had to tell them that we were in the wrong room and they corrected it. When I called ahead, weeks earlier I asked for a tub in the bathroom, a refrigerator and a microwave. They said that they could do it, when we got to the correct room none of those were there. It was a very nice room just wish that they had listened more.

Lovely stay

Found this little gem while looking for a place to stay last minute. I loved the environment and friendly staff. What a wonderful stay with comfortable sleeping. A parking garage right below the hotel was great so I didn’t even have to get wet from the rain or freeze walking to the car.

Read the low star reviews. Most are accurate.

Incredibly pretentious. Liberally flaunts a 4 star rating; it’s a 2 star quality stay. The low star reviews are fairly accurate. Don’t bother with a regular room, only the themed rooms are worth the stay. Walls are thin, towels poor quality, floors dirty, and it feels tired. Old character theme shouldn’t equal old and dirty amenities. The check in staff made their distaste for 3rd party reservations known upon arrival. This is also a “hook up” place for the more affluent in the surrounding area; as I said, thin walls. While we were entertained by our neighboring rooms’s apparent drama; I wouldn’t label it romantic or private. Parking is sparse; even with a parking garage. If you use the parking garage, the elevator doesn’t reach the bottom floor; keep in mind if you have special needs or heavy luggage.
