I really don’t like to give negative reviews because most of the places that we stay at are doing the best they can with what they have, but I feel like I need to be upfront about our stay here. I was really excited to stay at The Wildwood Hotel because it got such positive reviews and the photos gave the impression of a cute, boutique hotel. And it is a cute hotel, very similar to places you see in Europe, but it is all looks on the outside. We reserved a single queen room because Expedia said there were no more king rooms available. When we arrived, I asked about a king and was told they were all booked, which is really surprising since this is the middle of January and there were only about 12 cars in the parking lot. The room smelled like wet dog and the bed felt like you were laying in a sack of flour in that every time one of us turned over, the whole bed shifted to where you both ended up rolling into the middle. No support whatsoever. It was so bad that on the last night, my husband chose to sleep on the floor rather than on the bed and he slept better. That should tell you something is wrong here. The breakfast and ‘gym’ are nothing to write home about and the WiFi was painfully slow that I was not able to Zoom for work. Positives (because I feel so bad about leaving a negative review) are that the staff did seem friendly, the check-in process was easy, and there is a convenient garage to park your car for free.

Our room was fine. Our son had people above being loud until 4 am and even having called the front desk they didnt stop the noise. My son and daughter in law had 2 hours of sleep. Our daughter and boyfriend were next to the sprinkler room so they were up quite a bit also.

This place is amazing. Every staff member we have encountered in our multiple stays have been so great to us. We stayed Durbins last time during a snowstorm and it was pure chaos. They handled everything so gracefully. I sat in the lobby and just observed genuine people helping their guests. Thank you, Wildwood Hotel. You are our home away from home now
