GROTSPOT
This is the worst place we have ever stayed - the room was dank , smelly and dirty, the furniture was extremely dated and felt like it was from the 70's. The whole hotel is uninviting and has a depressing feel to it. Everything is on it's last legs and needs replacing. We didn't sunbathe round the pool as it also looked very uninviting , the outside areas are scruffy and filthy . We instead went to the Seashells hotel on the seafront and sunbathed there. We tried to stay out all day and kept the time spent in the room to a minimum as it was so bad. There is nothing good to say about this hotel - it is grotty and needs condemning or demolishing asap .

Adequate no frills apartment
The accommodation itself was comfortable, roomy and had everything needed plus a sea view. Some parts of the complex were not very clean e.g. Stairwells. Swimming pools were great. Very loud karaoke was not to our taste but it finished at 11pm.

Quality comes with price
This hotel was cheap comparing to other hotels especially in Valletta so I didn't expect anything amazing and that's exactly what we got. It was fairly clean when we arrived but housekeeping didn't do good job while were there. All they do is emptying bins, do the beds and change towels. they didn't clean the floor, bath tub or washbasin. Few times a week they have karaoke from 20.00-23.00 it's very loud and annoying. Location of Salina Wharf is very good if you want to travel. It's 5 mins walk from bus terminal - 20 mins if u don't know shortcut. There plenty of buses going to all important for sightseeing directions : Valletta, ferries to Gozo and Comino, Mdina etc. Valletta an hour away, ferries 30 mins, Golden Beach 30 mins. You can get 7 days ticket for 21 euros and its valid for Gozo also. St Paul's Bay where Salina Wharf is located is just full of hotels, bars and car rentals so you need buses to see nice places. There are two swimming pools, one of them is indoor. They also charge 70 euros deposit but return it when check out.

Nice hotel, very quiet location.
It was a nice hotel, not much going on, pool was very nice, bar was ok, karaoke on one night but apart from that not up to much, always quiet. Not much to do in immediate area, there are some nice Resturants around, They is more going on in Bugibba during day/evening, plenty of places to eat/drink, plenty of day trips around the island & Gozo. Would go back to Malta - nice place, lovely people, very friendly.

Good location
Good central location for Qwara/Buggiba Bus station near by for buses all over Island. Apartments nice clean and spacious - the complex needs a bit of TLC!! The bar/restaurant was closed for refurbishment?? Not sure for how long or when. Not a major problem for us as lots of local places to buy basics to eat in or lots of places to eat out!!!

A pleasant stay
I was pleasantly surprised to the cleanliness of our hotel room. The bedding was very clean smelled clean too. The floors were clean and bathroom was clean. The main priorities for me. The receptionist was friendly and my stay for the one night was enjoyable. The only thing that I found wrong in the hotel room was that 1 wall light and 1 ceiling light in the bedroom didn't work. And 1 ceiling light in the lounge didn't work. But they didn't affect our stay at all. I wouldn't definitely recommend Club Salina Wharf hotel for a pleasant stay.

clean and tidy apartments/ hotel
the hotel was very clean and tidy friendly staff nice indoor pool bit chilly for outside pool but was very inviting looking. Only downside was the bar in the hotel was closed but this was only due to it being low season otherwise no complaints plenty of other bars in the are for food and drink.

Perfect for what we needed.
The hotel was what it said on the tin. Basic room with the facilities to see us through the week. We were out most days so made a good & comfortable base to come back to. Close to the sea, shops, bus station and bars. In door pool was adequate but dated. No bar or restaurant at the Hotel itself, however it was out of season so maybe set up by the summer.

Salina Bay
2nd visit to the Salina which is a great budget hotel. Great for access to the rest of the island from the local bus stop which is a 2 minute walk away. Qawra area is nice and fairly quiet with a handful of restaurants and bar nearby - the Al Dente is a great local eatery which is very reasonably priced with some great pasta dishes available. Buggiba is only a short walk away along the coast road and here there are lots more bars and restaurants with plenty of choice. There are a couple of seafront bar kiosks along the pleasant walk which make a great stop for refreshments with great views of the st Paul's bay area. The hotel staff are polite and helpful and the indoor pool is great - warm water in the off peak months and open until 10pm. Just my son an I visited this time and we enjoyed trips to Mdina (186 or X3 buses and approx 25 min trip)and to ghajn tuffieha (223 bus and approx 20 min trip) which getting off at the last stop leaves you at golden sands which has to be one of Malta's nicest beaches. A big swathe of sand and a beach bar which is quite good. A walk to the left of the bus stop takes you to a 2nd beach ghajn tuffieha which is also really nice. You access this beach via steps which add to the appearance of this stunning bay. The walk between the beaches takes you through an area , which when we visited in late Feb 17, was awash with yellow wildflowers and honey bees. The walk around the two bays is really nice. Majjistral park ideal for walks also close

Worst hotel ever
Worst ever experience. Arrived at 13.30 and left at 15.00 after 2 hours of stay. They gave the worst ever room that i saw in my life. I rate it at 1 star. Heaters in the room was noisy , very cold, beds were low quality, no blankets, kitcken ..... old furniture..... and a lot of other things. Hotel.com were ok managed to get money back half as a voucher and half money. Best decision was to leave and find a proper 4 star hotel.

Unloved time warp
Looks like it was built in the late 80s and not touched since. Location good no wifi in rooms only super slow in reception. No lifts, no water pressure overall very grubby. Towels smelled like cigarette smoke. We were there ove Christmas and I the heating could not cope with the mild cold so we froze. This place could be fantastic but I bet it never changes

Nice, quiet hotel that met our needs
This hotel is rated 4 star but I would think it possibly 3 star standard. That said, it was clean and the room was spacious although some things were in need of repair. A lot of other visitors seem to be caught up in timeshare issues and apparently part of the hotel is closing. This didn't affect our stay. There are lots of places around to eat and drink.

disappointing hotel
The best thing about this hotel is that it was cheap! It is also quite central for the centre of Qawra but the area around the hotel is not very nice, it backs onto a residential street, near the front of the hotel is a large derelict hotel - derelict apart from a colony of cats that someone feeds but doesn't clear up their muck! The reception area is fine, it is air conditioned and has free wifi. The check in procedure was laborious but that might be typical of the country. the reception staff were friendly enough. Our room was dingy and badly in need of refurbishment, there was always a musty smell, we overlooked the residential street and had an oblique view of the sea but the sun never came onto the balcony which was small but adequate although it was overlooked by the other rooms in the block at right angles. There was a small kitchen alcove with the very bare essentials, we were given an inventory to sign - there were several things missing which I told reception about, I wasn't that bothered but did request a corkscrew and another glass which were missing from the inventory, the receptionist said we would get them but they never appeared. There was a bath with a shower over but this badly needed replacing as most of the water went direct into the bath rather than through the shower. The bedroom furnishings were very old and shabby. There was no dish towel so we bought one then at the end of the first week the cleaner left us one. We would not go back.
