Very Good

The Cordova Inn was very disappointing. It is supposedly a "renovated" historic inn, but the renovation leaves a lot to be desired. A noisy window AC unit should have been upgraded to a quiet minisplit system - they are quiet, effective, and pretty inexpensive. The hairdryer didn't work. The old clawfoot tub had no grab bar and very hazardous slippery surfaces. There was no work desk in the room - you had to set up a laptop in a common area. The staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful.
Overall not worth what the price per night was. Terrible privacy between rooms(single door separation), covered up windows, half cleaned bathroom, window shaker ac unit, morning staff not around for service.
Wish we would have spent this money at another establishment in the area.
The Cordova Inn is a charming boutique hotel dating back to 1921. The location is excellent, the staff friendly and professional. Only two negatives come to mind: Most windows are effectively blanked out, creating a bit of a cave-like feeling to the room. Secondly, window air conditioners rather than central. Both these issued will be rectified when the hotel's expansion is completed later this year.
We booked the Cordova Inn when we had to make a quick trip to St. Petersburg to visit our sister who is very ill. The hotel is old; pictures of the lobby and rooms looked quaint. I did not see anywhere that there was no elevator so we were surprised when we had to carry our luggage up and down from the third floor. No one offered to help. The room itself was adequate, but the bathroom was so tiny, you could barely stand in it. The lights were difficult to figure out, the TV remote buttons were worn and barely worked. We were exhausted from being at the hospital all day, and really did not appreciate all these little inconveniences. There was also construction noise in the morning as they are adding onto the hotel. Fortunately, we were able to move to my relative's apt. for the rest of our stay. The coffee bar in the lobby was very good for a light breakfast, so that was the one positive during our stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Good location, great bar and happy hour. Room was OK - its dated. Bathroom is small. We were on the first floor and it was very noisy. P.S. - No tissues in the room.
Wonderful staff, at the front desk & at the bar. So friendly & helpful, very welcoming!
The hotel seems to be in need of a bit of an update - very creaky bed, toilet kept running, bathtub/shower probably needed to be redone/updated.
Overall great location & cozy stay, just could use a few updates & some sprucing.
Overall the stay was good. I knew it was a historic hotel so I always have an open minded view of what to expect. Everything was good with the exception that the room that I stayed in was the first room (Room 108) as you enter the hallway from the lobby. You can literally hear everything happening in the lobby. There's a small kitchen and a coffee shop right there. That was the only issue.
It was very bad experience. The room was so old and it smells the bathroom omg the worst I ever seen the room it was very cold and the ac on the window did not work on the heated side. And don’t make me start on the noise outside. This construction workers they start making so much noise at 7am I never experience that in a hotel after a night out that was horrible so if you reading this do your self a favor pay couple $ more and go to a better hotel you gone thank me.
Construction underway. Construction team started banging and moving equipment at 7:08 am Friday. Fire alarm went off at 2:38 a.m. Saturday, then again at 3:15 when the fire department arrived using sirens, then again at 6:30a.m. for some reason. Then again at 9:00 am. Staff confirmed it's an ongoing issue. Windows now dirty and blocked by construction activity. Rooms small. Towels a bit dirty and aged. Oh well. Seemed like a charming place to be.
Nothing good here, in fact pretty scary. If you are looking for a boutique hotel, go to The Hollander. You park right next door, but you can’t park there overnight, you need to park blocks away. Thats an extra $25.
My room the door for room 104 does not shut proper and is barely catching the door jam. Since the bed is right next to the door it bothers me that this is a safety issue, and a brute bump would blow the door open. The TV did not work. The AC only has air and blasts high cold, no heat. I was there on a cold day 40's. The bed was a lumpy old bed don't want to know where it came from.
Most importantly there is no customer service, only lip service. The Manager or no one ever called me back its been 6 days so far and no return call. I made a list of these issues and left it with the person of the day the next day. I was even told that due to this being a historical building you get the door as is and it won’t be fixed. That is the most backward answer on a safety concern I have heard. Sorry bro, that answer won’t fly.
Stay away!
The Cordova is a great hotel, it has a nice old world feel with all the modern conveniences that you might need. I found everything clean and the area quiet. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I’m looking forward to staying there again whenever I visit Tampa or St. Petersburg area
Nice effort to preserve the old hotel atmosphere, great staff. Lamp didn't work and alarm went off at 5, which suggests a need for better attention to maintenance and housekeeping.
