Disappointing

The room was so small, only about 6 inches on one side of the bed a 24 on the other. No dresser, no closet, no towel rack, no amenities in the room. We were instructed to get extra towels and toilet paper from a “stash” closet on the floor-it was never stocked! I had to buy extra toilet paper at a local store. It was so disappointing as the photos looked really nice.

Upon arriving at 5 p.m., we were informed that our room was not yet ready, which was difficult as we had a tight schedule for dinner. While management did eventually resolve this, it was an initial inconvenience. Later, when we attempted to visit the rooftop bar at 11 p.m., we were turned away due to a special event. The most significant issue, however, was the room itself. The air conditioner did not work, and the room temperature exceeded 80 degrees throughout the night. We made multiple attempts to contact the front desk. Hotel security eventually confirmed the issue and informed us that engineering would need to address it. Unfortunately, no one from engineering was available at 4 a.m., leaving us without air conditioning for the entire night. Staff offered to bring us a fan which never arrived.

We LOVED this property, and actually have already booked our next stay here. This area is perfect and right in the heart of St. Pete. Next door to Ferg’s, which is a huge bar/restaurant that houses 18 bars!!! The pool is heated, which is a bonus for chillier days. Also, note, there is a rooftop bar and then there is a pool bar, both on the same level. The “rooftop bar” is only open on the weekends, but the pool bar is still open. The only thing the room didn’t have was a mini fridge (which wasn’t super important to us). The coffee bar “Roses” was really good too. We are locals and we get away once a month and come stay in the area, and we will not be staying at any other hotels now that we have stayed here. 15/10 recommend!!!

The hotel is very nice and the service is good. We did not know the rooftop bar would be closed the entirety of our trip, which was a huge sell for us, so that kind of stunk. The people are really nice except for the breakfast bar downstairs. She couldn’t be more bothered by your presence. The roof top pool was decent with a lovely bartender. For us, the rooftop was the selling point. Without that it’s just a Hilton or any run of the mill hotels.

Stayed at the Moxie in different locations a few times. This is a pristine new property however it seems to be focused more on the nightclub aspect than the hotel guest. Really loud music until 2 AM. Did not get any sleep and was exhausted. The hotel did comp me my first night stay and gave me earplugs, but honestly, it really didn’t help. Would it stay at this property again? Maybe but I would have to be prepared of not having a good night sleep.
