Many areas around Clearwater are still in the process of hurricane cleanup, but I’m glad I could support the local businesses while visiting. The food at the bar was great, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I wish I had known to request an ocean-facing room when booking, but I only realized that after checking in. My room faced the other side with a view of a gas station—totally my oversight. Also, you’ll need to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas if you want to sit on the beach, which seems to be common in the area. At some public beaches, you might be able to bring your own. Overall, it was a really nice stay!

The location of the property is great. Walking distance to many restaurants/bars/shopping. Stayed there 11/14-11/16 and was not aware that the restaurant and club were closed due to the hurrciane. Nowhere did it state any facilities would be closed. Normally that wouldn't be a huge deal, but they moved the entertainment to the pool area. My room was right above the pool area, and I had to call the front desk and ask them to turn down the music at 1am. We were also woken up by people partying til 4 am. I was told it's an "entertainment" hotel. So, if you have small kids or like your sleep, this place it probably not a good fit. Otherwise, everything was great.

Staff is excellent and very helpful. Hotel is in a great location and very well tended to. There were a few extra fees that we weren’t aware of like renting beach chairs. 2 for 30$. All in all we had an enjoyable stay and would return to this property in the future .

Poor service. Ice machine broken. No bottle opener to be found on entire property. Paid a resort fee and beach lounges and umbrellas still a $30 fee daily. Property is dated and not for those looking for any sort of peace or quiet.

The property was still damaged from the hurricane. The management tried to fix whatever they could but made no efforts to compensate the guests who visited despite the damages. No restaurant for breakfast, no night club and beach is still a mess.

My stay at Shephards was outstanding. A big shout out to the staff on the job they did to get Shephards back up and running after the horrific hurricane tried to wipe them out. I was worried I would have to stay somewhere else but they came through!!

We didn’t have hot water for 2 of the 3 days of our stay. The staff was rude and unapologetic. I will not recommend this property to anyone which is unfortunate as 2 of us staying here are travel agents.
