Lovely historic and comfortable inn
Lovely historic hotel that is very charming yet modern enough where it needs to be. Our room was quiet (except when some of our neighbors got a little boisterous) and the surrounding area is very pretty and quaint. Great area to walk or drive around too. The breakfast was excellent and so was the service

The property is nice because it is historic but they charge a fortune to stay there which would be fine if they did any up keep of the premises. Cracked ceilings toilets that don’t flush exterior is in need of a paint job. We sat on the porch at 9:00 pm all used glasses and dishes on the tables no one cleaned or removed them. I think that is terrible customer service.

The Red Lion lived up to its reputation as a wonderful Inn to spend some time. It's full of charm and so comfortable. Great for leaf peeping and close to a great bakery and good shops.

Historic Inn which shows its age
This is a historic inn and is over 125 years old. You should adjust your expectations accordingly. Everything is older and the hotel lacks many modern conveniences. My room was not ready at 4 pm and the lobby was full of people waiting for their room. The hotel is one of the limited options in town and is in a good location.

There are just a lot of outbuildings on the property that have been turned into guest rooms. We were fortunate to stay in the main house, but our room faced the courtyard which supports patio dining, cornhole games, and a large area for people to gather. It just made for a rather noisy stay. Also, the heat in our room did not work on the first night. The second night we requested a small space heater, which was provided. This is an historic Inn and was quite busy as would be expected for the weekend of the year that we stayed.

Property is an old inn and as a result you need to be willing to deal with the oddities of an old historic property. The Inn has several buildings as part of their property, so you may not be saying in the historic part of the Inn. Under any circumstance, it is a pleasure to stay there.
