Clean and good breakfast
Good basic hotel, clean. Beds are comfortable. The hotel needs updating, price is similar to a premier inn but what a premier inn would look like back in 1999. Breakfast and staff were great. Overall, very clean, good breakfast, comfortable bed and nice staff.

Wonderful staff and excellent value for money
What a lovely hotel! I didn’t expect much considering how economical it was but it definitely exceeded my expectations by a mile. The staff were absolutely lovely, really helpful and friendly. The room was absolutely spotless and had everything I might need. Breakfast was a buffet breakfast and really tasty. Nice quiet room, I slept like a log. Will definitely be going back next time I visit the area.

Basic but fine
The decor is as basic as it gets, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. There’s a large car park with free parking right in front of the hotel, and the building itself is nice and the staff are welcoming. Incredibly basic but fine value for money.

Disappointed that the Restraurant not open would have been a major problem if we were late arriving which we saw with other guests we were given a list of places but found one not on the list which was very niceThe Milliner. Also no one at breakfast for a long time and hot food had run out which made us late starting off to our show so had more hold ups. After the bad the rooms were clean the staff when there were helpful & polite and breakfast tasted great when they replenished.

Terrible place - I can’t understand the TripAdviso
Don’t even think about staying here if you’re not willing to carry your bags up and down stairs (and I mean up some and then down some others just to get to your room). Check in is at 3pm. Period. Even if they have rooms ready they don’t bother to check they just tell you that’s the rule. Check out is at 11am. Asking for a late check out is a waste of time as they won’t let you - even though it surely doesn’t take 4 hours to clean a room. And if you happen to overstay they charge £15 per hour as a ‘fine’. You have to both pay when you check in as well as leaving credit card details for their fines, which is unusual. Most hotels will hold an amount on your card and then let you pay at check out, but not here. The room itself on first appearance is adequate, but there are only 2 power sockets on the opposite side of the room to the bed, so you can’t charge your phone next to your bed. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and the window slides open to allow easy access from outside and couldn’t be locked. The bathroom is more like a steam room as there’s no extractor fan so the steam just builds up. The only decent thing about the place is the breakfast. A quick tip - don’t do what the sign says and wait to be seated or you might die of hunger. Fortunately another guest told us this after they saw us standing t

We enjoyed our stay at Alma lodge hotel, staff were polite and friendly .the room was spacious and spotless and tea and coffee facilities were in the room. The bed was fairly comfortable but a bit on the small side for my 6ft 2 husband. The only downside was after travelling for several hours to get there ,checking in at 3pm we were informed the restaurant was closed and we were unable to have any food even though afternoon tea and sandwiches was advertised. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would recommend this hotel.
