The hotel is in a great location and is old but the rooms are dated and the queen with view room was so small to get round the bed the other person had to sit on the bed, there is no room for suitcases to open without blocking the door out, no wardrobe but a rack with 3 hangers, no tv, the bedside lamps don’t work as the sockets are blocked, the bathroom is dated and tiny. There’s no lift so 3 floors of carrying cases. The dinner menu only has 3 items but breakfast is good. One night is ok, just , but anymore is a pain in the poky rooms. On the plus side the staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Property is very nice old hotel building, however, there is no elevator on this building so I have to carry heavy luggage to the third floor. I don’t think this is a hotel for elderly people. Service reception was exceptional, Margo, the reception member was so very nice and helpful. Thank you

This was a lovely hotel and good value for money compared to other hotels we stayed at in Norway. It was actually my favourite hotel in the 3 weeks we stayed in Norway. The location is about a 5-10min drive into Geiranger where all the stores and activities are or you could choose to walk down. You do have to pay to park down in the town but the hotel parking is free. Their breakfast is incredible! I’m sure their dinner would be great too but we didn’t actually stay for supper. We did not stay in a room with a view but i’m sure these would have been fabulous. We loved our stay.

Had a great stay and would 100% recommend it for anyone staying in Geiranger. We appreciated being far enough up the hill to get away from the thick crowds of cruise ship tourists. Consider asking for a third floor room if possible. We stayed on the second floor and because of the slope of the road in front of the building it felt a bit like ground floor when tour busses come past! But even with a second floor room I still highly recommend this location. Rooms are tiny and bathrooms are dated, typical of a classic European hotel, but they are clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were excellent. Spring the extra money for the fjord facing rooms — worth it!

Wow! This such a great place to stay. The view is amazing. The classic charm is wonderful. It is an older hotel so there are no elevators. It may not work for everyone Highly recommend.

Charming and beautiful room

Charming hotel with an outstanding view and a super comfortable bed. The rooms are small and there are no elevators because it’s a very old building but it was great nevertheless. They also offered Nespresso in the rooms, which was a nice touch.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay here in Geiranger. The town itself is breathtaking. The gentlemen working at the front desk were so helpful and lovely. True to its name, this hotel had incredible views of Geirangerfjord! It's also walking distance from the Flydalsjuvet viewpoint. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious.

Yes, I would stay there again!! This is an older property but maintained well and as you will see its about location location location. Our room was small but its expected in Europe and these faculties. Staff was amazing and breakfast selection very good. Remember it the view!!

We called ahead when running late and Hans was most accommodating of our situation. He even met us outside to help us sort out parking after seeing us make a couple of passes by the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was a classic spread of Scandinavian "bread," which is bread, eggs, cheeses, meats, fresh fruit, cereal, and much more! We enjoyed wandering the hallways and other public areas to see the historic photos on the walls illustrating life in Geiranger during days past.
