Located in a lovely village this hotel has seen better days. My room was grubby, the bathroom covered in mold and lots of dirty patches on walls and ceiling. Very limited facilities and services, rooms not serviced all week.
It’s a wonderful building with rich history. Excellent location.
Downsides, it does not come with parking and that should be amended. While I realize they’re working on building a new car park, parking for guests was a concern.
Air conditioning would be nice. It was really warm in our room
Rooms are not serviced, not enough staff, restaurant closed before closing hours, food horrible, dated and run down- the place needs big investment, it has clearly seen better days. Perfectly fine for sleeping, but other than that…

Catered for coach parties not guests. Told we couldn't book dinner and then told dinner was booked. Given same menu as coach party which was mediocre. Breakfast was cold. Bed clean and comfortable but not even a chair to sit on. Will not re-visit.

Beautiful old building but with modern, basic rooms. Lovely dining hall and well maintained gardens, staff lovely. Windows unfortunately only partly opened - not ideal during our summer visit. Limited restaurant menu but other restaurants within walking distance. Bathroom a bit musty but the room was clean. Car parking very limited, priority seems to be coach tours. Overall good, would stay again, but not the best value for money at the price we paid.
The stay was for one night, check-in was smooth. We had booked family room 1 double bed and 1 single bed. But we got 3 single beds. The little was not happy sleeping alone and kept falling of the bed as there were no barriers. Spring beds are very uncomfortable. The room was spacious and old mansion kind. Single glazing windows.
Very poor quality and choice at breakfast.
Despite paying extra the bedroom was both small and in need of refurbish.
We left a day early.

Room could have been better but over all okay
Over all the stay was fine on entering the hotel it is lovely but once we got to the first floor and then to our room it went down hill from there. Its a bit outdated and the room is in need of a massive over haul to freshing it up, as the paintwork was all marked on all walls and the shower head was mouldy.
Plus side the bed was comfortably and room was clean apart from the marked walls and mouldy shower head
The room was very hot but the receptionist was happy to supply us with a fan which did help.
Was rudely woken in the morning with the fire alarm going off ( no emergency) at 8am so we got up and just left to head home.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disappointing. Lack of attention to detail
Man at reception desk was more interested in getting himself a drink of water after he saw us, than booking us into the hotel.
No toilet roll holder. Pull cord in bathroom filthy. No extractor fan. Dirty shower hose.
