Quaint hotel with strange character

This was a great little hotel on the hill of a small quaint adorable town. The rooms were small, but they were comfortable for 2 people. Located within walking distance to anything you'd want from the town. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. This hotel is definitely a little different. It used to be a convent for nuns as it sits right next to the towns hospital. The rooms and hallways feel like it. But, it was cheaper than the Foss Hotel down the road and was comfortable enough for a 1 night stay. The breakfast in the morning was a little strange, but it did the job as there wasn't much else in town open to eat at the time. Would highly recommend if you're just stopping in town for a night! Clean and friendly and good value.

We did not like the hotel locating next to the hospital and the hotel was renovated from a church. We felt uncomfortable . The bed was good and clean and the room was bright.

The property is a convent with all the expected charm of a convent. The televisions do not work. The room had the plumbing sound of running water over the bed for much of the night. The views were nice of the harbor but the windows were very dirty. There is no landscaping other than a parking lot shared by a retirement home. The centerpiece of the lobby is a 1970s chapel and a life sized mural of Jesus. There is a Stale smell throughout the facility. No restaurant or facility other than breakfast room. Breakfast was acceptable. We dined at the far superior nearby Foss Hotel which was within walking distance.

Charming Village Stay with a Modest Hotel

This hotel is located in a picturesque, quaint seaside village that’s perfect for a relaxing and scenic walk. Even a short stroll around town is lovely, and I recommend heading up to the lighthouse for a great view. The front desk clerk was kind and incredibly helpful, which was a lovely welcome and set a positive tone for our stay. The hotel itself is part of a still-functional church and has a distinct religious atmosphere, both in its appearance and scent. The rooms feel somewhat like converted hospital rooms—especially the bathroom, which is quite sterile—but everything was clean and well maintained. Given the price, the hotel was adequate: clean and functional, if a bit plain. What really made the stay special was the charm of the surrounding village, which ended up being one of the cutest and most memorable stops on our road trip.

The property is located close to everything in the town including the lighthouse which was an amazing walk. The staff was exceptionally nice. The Breakfast was good. This is attached to a nursing home and a chapel is attached. It is very unique. The bathroom was adequate but small.

We stayed in a family room for 4 and it was perfect. The beds were all proper beds and this being our 4th night in Iceland, it was the most comfortable by far. The room was clean and spacious. Kettle could be requested at the front desk. Had the view of the harbour from the room and what a lovely sunset view Grear location with short walk to the harbour. Will definitely recommend this great hotel.

Stayed for the last leg of our trip. Two nights. Large room (3 beds, 1 double, 1 twin). Good size bathroom with shelf. TV in room, but per staff management was dealing with contracts. But there was a TV in lounge that got service (?). Breakfast buffet available (the buffets in Iceland always included hard boiled eggs, fruit, cheese/meat platter, veggies, pastries). This was the only buffet that did not include the Icelandic yogurt...missed it!.

Great hotel in a repurposed convent, situated on a promontory overlooking the harbour and ocean Rooms were nicely furnished and decent size Breakfast was included and the array of variety of foods was amazing They even had cauldrons of soup available Would recommend Hotel Fransiskus if visiting the West Fjords area as a great place to stop
