One of the greatest downsides to this hotel is the quality of the food. My fiancee checked in after me, and ordered room service (salmon) whilst I was out. Unfortunately, it wasn't great - by which I mean that she has been struck down with food poisoning and is unable to get out of the room, due to a need to keep close to the bathroom. Likewise my experience at breakfast (my fiancee was unable to face it, even if she could make it down) wasn't fantastic. Good eggs & toast, cracking bacon, but the sausage tasted, frankly, rancid. On the plus side, staff here are friendly, approachable and helpful.

Hotel was being refurbished, no information regarding this when booked, no problems until the morning when I had some work to do before setting off and the builders had their radio blasting at 8am. Thankfully by 8:30 they had been told to turn it down, but difficult to call a customer with that going on and tarnished an otherwise great stay.

Hotel is looking pretty run down, the room smelt awful & the WI-Fi hardly worked, which was really frustrating and the stay was just wildly overpriced. The gym is a decent size but the kit is worn and rusty.

Room looked very old and the corridor of the rooms looked more modern than the room itself. Furniture in the room was very tatty and creeky. Damaged sink, a bathroom door looks like it’s been nawed at.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. I’d read some of the trip advisor reviews before arriving so my expectations were properly set. The room was fine. Beds were really comfy but we’re on wheels and had a mind of their own. I fell over more than once because I lent or tried to sit on the bed and it moved! There were some marks on the back of the bathroom door and next to the loo roll holder that probably could have come off with a wipe if the place had been cleaned properly. Windows were a bit dirty. TV Ariel wasn’t plugged initially but worked that out myself pretty quick. One of the lights in the room we couldn’t get to work no matter what combination of switches we tried. Nothing that ruined our stay though. The staff were friendly and welcoming, reasonably priced 3 star hotel, perfect for a night stay when visiting Swansea for the an event at the area. Breakfast was good. Only slight let down was some below standard cleaning and snagging in the room certainly not the end of the world, suited us for the purpose of our stay. Wouldn’t book here for a romantic weekend, perfect for a city break, or attending a wedding or event.

The room was clean and tidy. A few bits of decoration around the room could have been better, paint bleed over signs, pipes etc some of the paintwork in the communal hallways was badly chipped. Service in the function room was quite unfriendly Of the four Village Hotels I’ve stayed in this one felt like it could benefit from an uplift
