Central for Swindon

The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from Swindon Railway Station. It's a large building standing at a road junction. I've stayed in larger rooms at Leonardos Hotels elsewhere but it was the same good quality with satisfactory fixtures. The bed was firm and I would have liked some softer pillows. The room was very quiet with little noise outside the hotel or within the building. The buffet breakfast was varied with an array of tasty items including well cooked sausages and also poached eggs cooked to order. The staff I met were pleasant and helpful and I would stay at this hotel again.

Check in was good, 1812 bar staff and breakfast staff were good. Manager was not helpful when I had to complain for the second day about plumbing issues (and then electrical ones as well) The noise has definitely increased from previous stays. I think the club side of business is now seems more important than the hotel side. I had dirty water coming back up the drains, dangerous electrical issues

Hotel was okay, parking seems slightly dodgy 3rd party company and receptionist stated that just entering reg prevents a fine and asked me if I wanted to pay the £6 stated parking fee. In my view they should take the payment when you check in and register your reg, suspected they don’t because the parking company make a profit?

The hotel is clean, which is really lovely to see as it is very rare to have a clean hotel nowadays. The only downside was the air conditioning was not working as it was set to automatic mode where I couldn't control it. I had to wait a while to see if this could be fixed, but eventually I was moved to another room where it worked fine, so no issues. The only thing I would say is that it kept turning itself off every couple of hours so I had to keep getting up to turn it back on again. It would be much better if the air con is fully controllable in each room, especially for people like myself who suffer with asthma. However, the staff were really friendly and helped as much as possible.
