Lovely foyer. Beautiful building.. Staff good. Good location. Room —— we were advised that we had been upgraded to a newly renovated room. Well it had mould on the tiles, big patch of grouting around the shower tap and hairs left on the shower walls.

The room was a nice size for two people with two beds. The lobby and breakfast room were beautiful. I enjoyed the fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, juice, and cereal for breakfast. A hot breakfast was also offered. The location was perfrct for walking everywhere in the Sydney City Center. The reception was very helpful giving us local maps to explore and for getting us a taxi when we were ready to leave for the airport.

This place is good for an older crowd who appreciate a concierge and security. This is a historic building and I liked that it had a big clean bathtub which was perfect after my beach day. I didn’t like how the “historic” elevator and room required a traditional key. This made it less ideal if you’re having a guest come up. I also didn’t like that the water and small can of chips in the room were not free and I didn’t realize that until I opened them and read the note. Something simple as complementary bottled water that is replenished daily would have swayed me to consider this place in the future. But I would not stay here again.

This hotel needs to be refurbished totally. Breakfast was awful ( I only tried it once it was so bad)!. No window in the room. I felt claustrophobic. Small TV.

I liked the 1920’s style of the hotel. After travelling a few days, I appreciated the laundry facilities. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was large. Only one complaint was the toilet would randomly flush, from time to time.

It is a very old building, we stayed in 3 bed rooms(816 and 916) that had no windows but it was really clean, staff were nice as well, breakfast was average

Cute but very small room. Was convenient but old. Parking and access to the hotel if you have a car is lousy unfortunately and that information wasn't provided. No space on the street to stop and remove luggage despite being told in advance that was the best option. And car parking is expensive - so don't consider this place if you have a car. Otherwise, a good option for central city.

Nice decor etc. but some real disappointments
Very disappointed in the bathroom/toilet. They are arranged in such a way that the toilet is flooded when the shower is used. The flooding is unavoidable due to the proximity of the toilet to the shower. The toilet is basically rendered useless/until the floor is mopped. We had to use our bath towels to clean it up. The TV remote would only work if when held close to the TV. Reception did replace the batteries, but this did not resolve the issue. There was no instruction as to how the air con worked. We had to turn it off because we could not increase the temp. By about 3.00am it was freezing. The restaurant menu leaves a lot to be desired.
