Disappointing Stay at Park Inn by Radisson NS

I recently stayed at Park Inn by Radisson in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada, and had a very bad experience. I booked under the Radisson name, expecting certain standards of quality and comfort, but unfortunately, the reality was far below expectations. The hotel was dirty and poorly maintained. The window in my room was broken. The TV and hair dryer did not work. The swimming pool was dirty and unusable. We were two families traveling together and had requested two adjoining rooms. The staff denied our request, claiming the adjoining rooms were occupied. However, it turned out that no one was staying in the room next to ours, which means we were misled. When we arrived at the property, we were shocked by its condition. Because of this experience, I have lost trust in booking Radisson hotels online without physically inspecting the property first. It’s very disappointing to see the Radisson brand associated with such low standards, possibly due to franchise operations not upholding the expected quality. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address these issues to prevent other guests from facing similar problems.

This wasn’t the name of the Hotel I book on line. It was Hearthstone so confusing to find. Never received information about name change or renovation happening. Put on 2nd floor with no elevator carrying luggage up and down. The pillow on the beds were small square cushions.

We liked the check in staff and the restaurant. There was a dirty mattress in the hall outside our door. An electrical outlet in our room with burn marks and overall not clean. I dont understand how they received a 4 star rating. We were in the lower lower level and it was extremely damp. There was a dehumidifier outside of our door full...useless. The wifi was nonexistent. We had to keep the ac on all nite to keep the dampness at bay. Wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone.

The outside looked run down but the inside was much better and renovated. Our room was on the lower floor. Nice big bed and clean and fresh but it was clear there had been a flood the floor was buckled a bit and dehumidifier in the hallway. We woke up to a musty smell. The indoor pool was open but freezing and they told us they turned the pool heater off because it creates condensation on the windows so we didn’t get to swim. The staff were nice and friendly but seemed to be new. We asked for more coffee and sugar/creamer for our 2nd morning but they didn’t have any creamer and sugar. Or maybe we’re not sure where it was? Over all it was not a bad stay but not the best. Just okay. The price was very reasonable so I think with new ownership they are heading in the right direction!

Property location to things in the Sydney area was good. Despite being on the waterfront our view from both rooms was a field full of garabage and old tires. The hotel is under construction. The lobby floor has yellow tape on the tiles infront of the guest services. My parents are 90 and 91and had to climb two flights of stairs to get to their room. The furniture in the room was new, but did not distract from the condition of walls and tile. Thankfully we were with my parents and could carry their luggage up otherwise they may have had to stay in the lobby. If it was the only hotel left in Sydney on our next visit we would scrap the Sydney itinerary from our trip. It was three days and little to no occupancy in other hotels downtown.
