I am being somewhat negative because this was a case of my expectations being much higher than what was delivered. I mean, we are talking about THE HILTON, once queen of the hospitality industry.
So while the Luke Mangan brasserie on level 2 with its $115 steaks clearly aspire to the former glory that was the Hilton, the rooms are aged; a bit tired and really not a cut above the usual Rydges, Park Royals or whatever.
But checking in late a bit tired and hungry, it was the hospitality in the room which was the let down.
There were two English Breakfast tea bags available and a handful of those little plastic containers of milk.
Nothing in the fridge except two bottles of water which you could purchase for $4 each.
To be honest I have had superior offerings from the Comfort Inns and Great Western motels in Country NSW and Victoria where you get greeted with two small packets of biscuits and a 100ml carton of long life milk and for a third of the price of this hotel .
Finally, if you do book a room here. go for the inclusive $15 breakfast, as that was the best part of the visit.
