This is an older and small hotel above a pub. The room is very very small. However, the bed is excellent and the cleaning services are also excellent with optional daily cleaning service. The hotel itself is very safe. Don't forget to ask for a hair dryer when you check in they are not in the rooms. The pub staff in the afternoon, the Manager and the person who attends the bottle shop that is adjacent, were all very welcoming, kind, and personable. There is no front desk like a traditional hotel, you have to check in at the pub. It's easy. You are getting a good value for the price. It's right across the street and one building over from the historic Queen Victoria Building and around the corner from the Town Center underground train stop providing access to all areas. Buses are everywhere as well. If you get a room facing Park Street, be prepared for lots of noise. You'll hear the traffic and street musicians late into the night. I read a prior review and prepared with earplugs which they sell at the woolworths at the corner. I also ended the night with a drink at the bar and didn't hear a thing. Loved the location, cleanliness, value for the price. Bathroom is good as well. Many many places to eat in the area.

The location is great being so close to Hyde Park and Town Hall Station. Lots of good food and shopping in the galleries underground and everywhere around. I used this as just a place to sleep which was central to many walkable destinations like Barangaroo, Oxford Street, George St. It’s bare bones and the price was good for what I needed.

This hotel is in a fantastic spot however at night it is very noisy - not the hotel's fault obviously but does affect sleep quality. The check in was great, the room spotless. Very good value.

Convenient and Affordable
This was a one night stay before settling off on a cruise. It was a little confusing to find the actual entry to the hotel. One must enter the bar from the street and ask a server about the hotel. From there check in begins. The woman that helped us was friendly and helpful. The air conditioner works well and is pretty quiet. The bed is very comfortable. The location seems good…walkable to the Botanical gardens and other highlights. The hotel has a bistro with good food. The price to stay here a night was very affordable.

Everything about Hotel Coronation was really good. The only thing I would not rate is the bed. It was horrendous. Other than that, it was very good. Maybe they should get the managers to have a lay down to see what they think.

This property is right in the city next to a Big W and Cole’s and a 2 minute walk to the Queen Victoria bldg. very handy to everything. Would definitely stay again. You can leave your bags till 3pm. Very nice room.
