Great stay at this hotel, beds comfortable and quiet at night when we were there. Our only moan are the lifts, I think there were 6 lifts and only seemed to be two working at a time. It took a long time for a lift to come that wasn’t full. We tried to use the stairs but you can’t as they are all alarmed as fire doors.

Once a gem, now just a polished rock. Was approached by two strangers at the property for money and was chased into the lobby by one of them. Hotel staff reassured us that we were safe in the hotel but the fact that you need a code for the toilet on the ground floor suggests that there is a known problem. Only 2-3 lifts were operating leading to long delays. Incredibly, no lactose free milk available in the whole property. Used to stay here frequently - the location next to central was fantastic - but will be looking elsewhere for future stays in Sydney.

Loved how central this location is, walking distance to Central Station, through the tunnel. Enjoyed the amazing breakfast daily with helpful and friendly staff. Front desk, concierge, everyone is helpful. My kids, wife and I made good use of the amenities including the gym, pool and sauna. One area that could be improved is a warmer pool, but the sauna nearby made up for it. Overall, this hotel really enhanced our stay in Sydney with fond memories we’ll always have. Oh, and kids loved how McDonalds and Taco Bell are right across the street :). Also, discovered an excellent Chinese place nearby, Chef Chen’s Dumplings. Highly recommend the Mercure!

My daughter and i visited Sydney to see Annie at the Capitol Theatre and we loved not only the convenience of the hotel location but the staff were also great!
