Catherine was a delight! When we checked on Sept 5th. She was very helpful and cordial.(that is tje service you need after almost 24 hours flight!)we had a trip delay for a day. She made us take our breakfast before taking the mich needed rest. We came back on the 24th Sept, and she was effficient as ever. We told her that he had to come back because of the great service. (This also includes, Che and Raymond) highly recommended. We will use this hotel again. It is clean and conveniently located to great food places and malls

Most of my time at the Mercure Sydney was really good and comfortable, except asking if I could have a late check out of a couple of hours because of my flight time. One customer staff member said no way possible, because of hotel rules and bookings. He then checked on the computer and said that I can have a late check out of a couple of hours but I will need to pay an additional fee. He then asked another staff member about the late check out fee and they also confirmed I have no choice, and must pay the additional fee for a couple of hours late check out. Daily room cleaning was not possible unless specially requested at reception. Very disappointed guest.

Close to train station and shops. Onsite parking is available with discount rate for guest ($45/day) - unlimited access during the stay. Street is quite crowded thus not recommended for new driver. Room is good size, has bath and shower. Kids love the pool and breakfast.

While the hotel is in a very good location close to Central Station, Chinatown and Paddy's Market there are a few little things that could be easily fixed that brought the rating down. For example when it is clear that two people are occupying the room why is only one face washer supplied? (This seems to be a growing trend in other hotels) Housekeeping left dirty cups after servicing room and no bathmat to accompany the lone face washer

The hotel was clean, check in was easy and the staff were friendly. I had the buffet breakfast and it was tasty with a variety of options. The location was perfect with the mall just a 2 min walk away and plenty of food convenient stores on the same street. The bus stop is just about outside the hotel with the train station just a stone throw away too. Definitely perfect for a short trip in Sydney!

This is a very convenient stay in a hotel that is a little dated, but overall well above average. The staff are excellent, and the food is enjoyable. The beds aren’t amazing, but by no means the worst I’ve ever slept in.
