I recently stayed at Meriton Suites Sussex Street, Sydney, and while the check-in process was excellent, my stay had a few notable issues. The staff at the front desk were welcoming and efficient, making the initial experience pleasant.
However, the room itself had several problems that affected my overall comfort. The TV remote and hotel safe both had flat batteries, which was inconvenient. Additionally, there were no luggage racks provided, making it difficult to manage my belongings. To my surprise, the washing machine had someone else's underwear in it, which was quite off-putting. The alarm clock was set for 2 AM and couldn't be turned off, disrupting my sleep.
On a positive note, the manager was very nice and apologetic about these issues. Her response was appreciated, but some attention to detail would significantly improve the guest experience.
Overall, while the service was commendable, the room's shortcomings led to a less than ideal stay. I would rate my experience 3 out of 5 stars. With some improvements in room maintenance and cleanliness, this hotel has the potential to offer a much better experience.
