Charming and quirky, yes, but this a basically an old wooden building and that means creaky floors and no insulation. The noise coming from the other guests was really bad. Also, there was limited parking outside and the surrounding streets. The man on reception suggested the metered parking across the street (there was none free) or a car park down the street. That’s where we ended up and were expecting to pay $70 over night. Turns out it’s free on the weekends, something the staff should have known and told us!

The North Shore Hotel is a lovely, character-filled heritage building in a great location. Beds were super comfortable. Our room was spacious with the added bonus of a balcony.Thankyou Maurizio for making us so welcome. We will definitely return and stay longer next time!

We booked this room for one night for quick shower and nap before a very early flight. The staff were very friendly and lots nearby. Unfortunately it is a little dated and the bathroom was not as clean as I would hope, however the bed was and very comfy. Budget hotel!!

There was nothing about this hotel that I liked. The room was musky and tiny, considering, I had upgraded to the superior room, the air conditioning did not work properly - I was extremely disappointed. I have never stayed in a place of this poor condition before.
