Had a great view of the opera house, bed was comfy except it seemed to be two smaller beds combined to form a king so sleeping directly in the center was uncomfortable. Bathroom was nice, hot shower and hot tub were great. Breakfast was very accommodating with a great view of the harbor. However, it seems the best time to go was at the start time when the staff weren’t overburdened with drink orders and cleaning tables.

The view was lovely. The spa area is nice. The room was a bit dated. The service on the 36th floor at the bar was not as it should be - the staff were inattentive and needed multiple reminders to bring a menu or take the order. The biggest problem that I had was the staff kept calling my phone in the room at random hours to see if I was still enjoying my stay. I found this intrusive and disruptive, especially when they woke me from sleeping.

Staff are very welcoming and helpful Room was fancy, clean, and large Hotel was in a great location for all the things we wanted to see. Harbour bridge, the Opera house, public transport, casinos a walk away just to name a few things

The room decor was a bit dated for hotel of Shangra-La’s stature, and inexplicably there was only one chair (do the hotel owners expect my wife and I to take turns sitting?). Also, a microwave would be appreciated (every other hotel in Australia we stayed at had one). That said, the room is comfortable, the staff were welcoming and helpful, the gym is terrific and the Sydney location is excellent. If the room rate is competitive, I would recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Had the best view from our room. We dined at the restaurant upstairs and it was delicious. Room service was so good! Probably the best room service I have ever had. Pool was perfect temperature, and so relaxing with spa zen music playing through the speakers. Comfy bed. Only fault was the water was green when we went to fill up the bath… so we didn’t use the bath. But overall we loved it. Cleaning staff and breakfast staff were super friendly. A lady that works in the bar upstairs was really rude :) .. we were next in line for the harbour view table and when we asked she said no I’m giving it to the people next to you… even though they arrived after us. That was the only fault of the whole hotel :) Hopefully she gets better customer service experience.

The Shangri-La Sydney was phenomenal. Even before you walk on the door, the most wonderful fragrance greets you. The staff treated me like Royalty upon greeting me. Literally...as there was a Tongan Princess arriving when I did. And they treated me as kindly, graciously and wonderfully as the Princess. The decor was elegant and modern. I felt safe at all times. The hotel and my room were pristine. My junior suite was super spacious with unobstructed views of the Sydney Harbor, the Opera House, distant neighborhoods all along the harbor and in the sitting room, unobstructed city views. All through three large windows with space to sit in and have my coffee in the window!! When staff learned that my birthday was the day after check In, when I entered my room that afternoon i had champaign and a slice of lemon cake. My favorite flavor! And when you stay here, because you should, please treat yourself to a spa day. It was the besr massage i have EVER had in my 55 years. From the care and kindness of my masseuse, to the calm and luxurious decor, it was a beautiful spa day. The hotel is close to multiple activities and excursion pick up locations. Close enough to walk through beautiful neighborhoods on the way to your event location. I will DEFINITELY return to Syndey and stay at the Shangri-La again. As i visit other world destinations I will certainly look for this hotel brand. I loved every moment of my stay and I hope you do too!

The room we booked had a fantastic view of the harbour. It was spacious, and very comfortable. A short walk to the Rocks with galleries, shops and great restaurants. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff complete the experience of staying at the Shangri La.

Perfect to explore Sydney - great location & staff

The room and hotel in general was very well kept and clean. Well appointed with great views across Sydney harbour, with views of the Bridge and Opera House. All staff were friendly and attentive. We are at Altitude and also had some drinks in the bar with expansive views across the bay - great choice on the menu, friendly and attentive staff and great tasting food
