The other place I usually stay at has pillows I don't like so I bring my own, and the heater/AC unit is very loud, and I've found bugs, and the carpet is a bit ragged. In contrast, Hotel Sylva's bed and pillows are very comfortable and the heater/AC unit is quiet, and no bugs and no carpet. My parking space to the ground floor room made "moving in" very quick and easy. I didn't watch TV, but I turned it on before I left and it looked like there are a lot of viewing options and a quality TV. I was impressed with the black "Makeup" cloths. I usually bring my own because I hate to leave makeup on white cloths at hotels. It is nice not to have to travel home with a wet cloth. The coffee in the lobby smelled good. They don't have someone in the lobby 24 hours per day. The worst part of my stay was exiting the parking lot. Because of a parked truck, there was absolutely no line of sight for any oncoming traffic in the one-way Mill Street. One has to turn left. Earlier in the morning, I heard a long car horn blow, so someone may have had the same problem and almost had an accident. We tried out the rocking chairs which were great. There are pretty rose bushes to look at. Know there is some road noise, and the view for some rooms is of parked vehicles. I wish the parking spaces next to the hotel (reserved lot for Fusion) were available at night. Yet, this is a nice place to stay.

My only complaint was the shower water pressure which I feel is pretty typical for hotels. The room was gorgeous, beds and pillows were super comfy. They had a lock box for me to pick up my key since after hours and it didn’t work, I contacted the after hours and within 10 minutes I was in my room. I will definitely be staying again if I’m in need of a room in the area.

Cramped but comfortable
The room was a little cramp but otherwise comfortable. Needed a bigger refrigerator and getting the hot water in the shower faster would have been great. I am just used to having hot water in seconds rather than minutes. The little round table was in the way more than anything else.

Hotel Sylva is a hidden gem. Never felt more welcome or had the best experience from a hotel before. I wish this was a chain so I could take them everywhere I go

Hotel Sylva is in the heart of this quaint town. Walk to restaurants, shops and brewery. Completely refurbished. Super clean and comfortable!! Will definitely stay again.

Normally I avoid small ground level hotels since i travel as a solo female most of the time. I felt so safe in this hotel/city. It was clean and bug free. The only complaint i have was there wasnt a blow drier in the room (atleast not one I saw), however I didnt have anything fancy planned so no biggie.

Beautiful and spotless! Only difficulty we had was the consistency of the water temperature, once hot was super hot and took time to cool off. But overall wonderful stay, so convenient to shop and dine in downtown Sylva and well decorated with attention to detail!
