Good location on the main east-west thoroughfare between the older and newer parts of the city. Spacious lobby with comfortable sofas for lounging and free flow of coffee and milk tea. The rooms on the yet-to-be-renovated floors are oldish but quite well maintained and clean. Excellent buffet breakfast with good variety of food is served at the spacious 7th floor with good city view. Sound isolation is not good though, so if people make noise in neighboring rooms or the corridor, it could be a bit disturbing.
Good breakfast. Good and friendly staffs. Thanks. The first room had oders. But they switched to a better room. I love the breakfast and tea and coffees for the whold day. Excellent!!
The rooms in the "main hall" have aged but remain quite confortable. My room was decorated in a certain Japanese style, was quite spacious and had a good tub in the bathroom. The only major drawback is the lack of soundproofing from interior noises (people talking, very loud noises from the plumbing). The hearty buffet breakfast is a big plus, it is served in the 7th floor restaurant with a very nice city view. Free flow of coffee and tea in the lobby.
I walked in tired and bothered. Saw the room had no windows and went straight back to reception and complained as I only book rooms with windows and kettles in buildings with elevators (and pay the extra few dollars for such). The staff were brilliant. They changed my room quickly and with a smile. When showing me the new room, the consierge politely asked if the upgrade was acceptable. It was.
The rooms are specious and well maintained. You get a clean comfy bed, good pillows, all the mod cons, a good sized robe, with hangers, for your clothes and fast and reliable WiFi. You even get a full bathroom and fluffy soft towels. Housekeeping do a great job.
Breakfast is a quality buffet selection that varies daily.
And the staff, did I mention how good they really are?
The location is convenient to all the city has to offer.

Nice hotel not so close to the train station.
I have some difficulty to locate the hotel, especially in the rain. The staff are friendly and helpful. A bit noisy during the nights.
By and large, I am quite happy to stay in this hotel.

Good choice @ Taichung city
My room at 1002, quietness is not good for me to sleep. I have no complaint to the hotel since it's limited to budget yet I will like to stay next time to more quiet room. They offered good hot food, Chinese and Western varieties food. Very warm to me. The only one thing I complained is the room quietness not good to me.

Affordable hotel with a nice breakfast
The hotel is nice and affordable and is fairly central in Taichung. The staff were accommodating but spoke very little English (so if you know some Mandarin it is a plus). The room we were in was very basic looking and slightly dusty, but it had everything one could need from a hotel (e.g. hairdryer, towels, kettle, cups, TV, etc.). Breakfast was always good with a few staples that remained the same every morning and a few items that changed. It was always hot and delicious to eat with coffee, juice, and warm soy milk to drink.
The hotel commands a strategic location at the intersection of Wuquan Road and Taiwan Boulevard. It is quite old, the decor has not been updated for at least 25 years, but the rooms are well maintained and perfectly liveable. My spacious room on the 9th floor had a great view of the city and a nice tub in the bathroom. The hearty buffet breakfast is served in the panoramic cafe on the 7th floor.
Great location. A place to consider if you're planning to use public transport to travell around. Staff is friendly and helpful. Value for money.

Not bad
Easy to locate but check in timing was 5pm. Room was huge and clean but TV was too small and there were issues with antenna. Breakfast variety was average.

You get what you paid for.
The room was big and relatively clean. The room and hotel overall is a bit old. The bathroom had no shower curtain, the toilet seat doesn't fit perfectly (so expect to sit awkwardly). The breakfast was decent.
The walls are thin so we heard everyone down the hall the whole night. The front desk staff didn't know answers to our questions when we asked them simple questions such as when the night market near the hotel closes. When we checked in, the front desk clerk forgot to return our passport until we asked for it. The sheets weren't clean and I got bitten by bedbugs.
