As soon as we arrived we were charged £7 for parking; would expect free parking in a resort like this. Rooms are well appointed but run down and the standard of cleaning is not great, bathroom and carpets in particular need a deep clean- hairs in the bath, dirty shower seals, corners of room not clean. Beds are big but mattress is very hard. Breakfast choice is good but poor quality, pastries and pancakes were hard and definitely not fresh. Staff are very nice and helpful. Sadly would not return.

It took 3 attempts to obtain the correct room. On leaving I queried the variance in charge rate £120 one night & £160 the following. I was told they had variable charge rates, according to demand. This was not made clear at the time of booking. WHY NOT. We had on the 1st night a child’s entertainer, complete with microphone in the restaurant, so that all the guests whether with children or not, were subjected to a a barrage of noise. This should be done in a separate area, although in fairness we were told this was a trial. Overall the experience was not good but the staff were extremely helpful not only in politeness & service but fully understanding the circumstances in which we found ourselves.

Hotel is lovely, and the breakfast really good, evening meal is limited, expensive and small portions, pillows are too hard and no choice, but the real issue is if you book through an agent such as Expedia you are charged £7 per night which is disgraceful and a rip off

Nice hotel just a few minutes walk from Drayton Manor Theme Park. Easy access by car but had trouble with availability of taxis on a Thursday evening from Tamworth station (took an Uber but cost £16 for the less than 10min journey). Check-in was quick and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel has lots of nods to Thomas the Tank Engine which is great for kids (and big kids alike!). Breakfast had a good range of time available to book between. The range of food was good and food was nice. A range of veggie, vegan and other allergy friendly options are available on request. There is a free mini golf course open during daylight hours for hotel guests to enjoy, located just a short walk from reception (balls and putters available at the desk). Checkout was unfortunately slow given the influx of people leaving to visit the park and wanting to use the complimentary locked luggage storage room at reception. Overall the hotel facilities are good and we would highly recommend a stay if visiting the park. The only rooms available when we booked were accessible (which we did not require), however this was not a problem. Be aware that the bathroom sinks in these rooms are extremely small and low.
