Seaside Stay
Rather old. The facade needs a new coat of paint. The lift also needs to be upgraded.
When we arrived by Motorcycle, we were not greeted with hello, but rather by a man almost ready to kick us out of the property parking. He changed his mind a bit after we told him we had a reservation. Quite unusual for Japanese greetings. Steel doors reminding of jails that you see in movies. Wall papers unglued from walls everywhere, repairs half done. Ripped curtains. Feeling like being in a slump somewhere in the middle of Africa. Besides the ocean view, it’s all negative. The utilization of the word “SPA” is highly misleading .... do not recommend at all. I would welcome my money back for this deception. If I was Hotel.com, I would remove this listing!
if you dont understand japanese or cant talk japanese dont book this. will take your more than an hour of frustration talking to the frontdesk/manager of hotel. we had to ask our family member from our country to call expedia to get someone from expedia who can speak japanese to talk to them. will never book this ever.

Great price near place
the place was easy to find and its very near to many nice places in shirahama.
the hotel itself is average
the room was dusty but clean. by dusty i mean the whole room is full of dust.
but its the cheapest ever.
there is only 1 operator which is the owner and he handles everything himself.
the owner is very very respectful and friendly.
you got a microwave in the lobby and water vending machine.
opposite the hotel is a shop and nearby is a lawson convenient store.
The room light is malfunction but the staff is nice and helpful.

Didn’t Feel Safe
First of all, the biggest con to staying at this hotel was that they didn’t have Wi-Fi. Other than that, there was just a general feeling of unease about this place. Although the man at the front desk was very hospitable, he was the only worker that we saw for the entirety of our stay (possibly the owner? He was manning the front desk for at least 12 hours and was there the next morning too). The place had clearly just undergone a name or ownership change because everything was marked with President Hotel except the sign out front. There was a used vapor in our room and our floor was the only one that wasn’t completely blacked out. We could hear people fighting all day and night in the room next to us. The area nearby just seemed sketchy and we didn’t feel safe going out after dark. Before bed, my boyfriend propped a chair under the door in case someone tried to come into our room. It was that nerve wracking.
A couple positives: it’s very close to the Sandanbeki caves and the Sandanbeki bus stop and is also within walking distance of Senjojiki rock plateau, and a Lawson.

Acceptable.
Right next to the famous sightseeing Sandanbeki, so you can save ¥500 parking fee if you park at the hotel and walk the 100m over. It is good for drive in guests as there are not much restaurants around.
If you want to enjoy spa service, forget about this hotel, unless you book advance. Anyway it is a very small pool.
We chose the sea view room, but there are not much to see.
The hotel room is fine and the hotel staff is very helpful. But the WiFi is terrible.
Good Choice, while you are traveling at Shirahama.

good value
The owner was great. It is an older hotel, but for the price and location, we were pleased. We drove to the beach, as it is a bit farther. But we walked down to the overlook (looking out at the rocks and the water) in the evening and had a great view of the stars.
