Authentic

A lovely loaction and authentic experience. Many of the staff are an asset to the hotel. The plumbing and creaky floors leave something to be desired, particlarly the shower drainage and water pressure.

From check-in until check-out, everything was great. The building is wonderful, historical and relaxing. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Restaurant was first rate, great dinner and breakfast. Spectacular views from the terrace and the dining room. Trails down to the water through beautiful trees and flowering shrubs.

Serene. Castle, rooms, and surrounding grounds were beautiful. We slept with window open since it was warmer than normal for May, and it was quiet and peaceful. Staff in restaurant were attentive and helped me navigate my gluten and dairy restrictions. Walking paths around property were great. Will definetly stay again if in the area.

A gem of a hotel with superb views

An amazing stay. The views over the loch were stunning and the grounds were an unexpected bonus. Loved walking round the island. The food was of a high quality both at dinner and for breakfast. The staff were very friendly. We would definitely stay again.

Staff and public areas were excellent and very comfortable. Unfortunately the grounds are in need of TLC which is a shame. The hire of a skip for a day to remove all the rubbish and fishing debris would help. The bedroom accommodation needs a lot of paintwork and updating. I've slept in more comfortable beds in Premier Inns! Housekeeping was a bit erratic. The quality of the food at breakfast was mediocre. However it's perfect for dogs and the staff were great.
