Just back from a lovely 4 nights at this hotel! We would definitely recommend it! The selection of food at breakfast is great and the pianist is a lovely touch! The only thing missing was fresh fruit juice or smoothie. The juice machine isn't very nice. We stayed B&B and were so grateful for all of the lovely restaurants nearby the hotel for lunch and evening meals. The hotel is in a good location, close to several restaurants within a few minutes walk. Also not far to walk to the castle and see many of the beautiful churches! Lovely swimming pool with plenty of loungers and the food and drink we had at the pool bar was nice. The room was lovely and clean with a great shower. The pillows are not the most comfortable but we slept well. The construction site next to the hotel didn’t affect our stay but for those who like a nice view from their balcony, a pool view could be requested. There was some noise from the construction site but it wasn't too noisy and didn’t disturb our stay or our sleep. Overall we would recommend this hotel for a stay to explore the lovely Tavira!

Hotel rooms seem tired and worn. Could really use a freshening up. Limited amenities in the bathrooms. Rooms were dirty with many scuff marks on the walls. No coffee machine or coffee in the room. Only instant coffee and kettle. Mini fridge in the closet kept over heating so we had to keep the closet door open. Safety deposit batteries not checked so staff had to repair same in our first day. The staff at check in were rude and stand offish. The welcome drink was nice but we felt very rushed and unwelcome. We went to the roof bar one night and three times we asked for drink and snack menu from staff. No one ever did return to take our order. After 20 mins waiting we left as there was no service from any of the staff who were too busy on their phones. Hardly any other patrons on the roof bar but the staff couldn’t be bothered to serve us? Main plus for this tired hotel was the pool. Well maintained and good service at pool bar. For the money you spend here we expected much better service and quality and it sadly lacked all of it. Parking underground is limited and will cost 5euros per day but worth it if you can get one. Breakfast buffet was lovely but the coffee (espresso) etc is HORRID! Get better coffee please. Upon check out today not even a thank you or hoped you enjoyed your stay from the two men on the desk. Also a note, that as of Sept 2024 there is a major construction project happening right next door to this hotel & there is a lot is dust from same.Overall poor!

This property was excellent but our balcony overlooked a building site which started work on 2 mornings at 8am. Not a major issue but would not have booked this hotel had I known.Would be happy to return once work complete.

My Husband and I went for our birthday. We fell in love with Tavira. The resort, breakfast and over all service was phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond with cake and gifts when they found out it was a special occasion. Appreciate all the kindness shown.

Contemporary but could still be improved
The hotel was modern and contemporary looking, the staff at the reception desk are welcoming and friendly, the rooms were good and the beds were very comfortable for a standard room. One downfall of the room was a lack of iron, something to note for others incase of clothes getting creased. Upon reading the reviews a lot of people mentioned the breakfast buffet being amazing, however, it seemed pretty average to me, it lacked variety of sweet and savoury type of foods and was pretty much the same everyday apart from the fruits changing. Also cross contamination between utensils is something to note, example: The cheeses use the same tongs as the cold meats, the tongs used for the vegetables near the eggs uses the same tongs to pick up bacon or sausages, something to note for any vegetarian / vegan customers. Moving onto the gym, the gym was sub-par, machines felt rusty, resistance felt weird and the free weights only went upto 17.5kg. Definitely in serious need of a revamp The spa itself was nice to use apart from the steam room in maintenance for most of our stay. Another negative is the car park situation, there is free limited spaces parking at the hotel along with free street parking, but what became really annoying was external customers attending the hotel restaurant or bar taking up all of the on site parking leaving us staying customers fighting to find parking on the street. Overall I'd give it a 4/5 star

Love this place
Brilliant location. It is up a hill, but no problem for us. Tavira is a quiet village, away from all the the hustle bustle. Beach is a nice, short, boat ride away. You get the boat from across the river. Breakfast was lovely, pianist every morning. There is coach station across the river but we had a car. Parked on the street at the front for free. Nice restaurants and local shops all around, more across the river. Had lovely food everywhere. Good supermarket, 10 to 15 mins walk. Nice, inside, shopping mall about 20 mins walk. I went a few times as there was sales on, bought some nice clothes and shoes. It is our 2nd stay. We will be back.

Great Hotel
Really lovely hotel in a great location, with gorgeous pool area. Service was fantastic for check in, breakfast and rooftop bar. Breakfast buffet was also excellent. We stayed in a standard room which was a little bit dated but it was perfectly clean and a decent size. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel. The room was nice and comfortable. The pool area is beautiful. The breakfast is very good- having live piano music made it special. Most of the amenities were good - having separate shampoo and conditioner would be nice and replacing water daily would also be nice. Very convenient to downtown Tavira but still quiet. Nice balcony

Rooftop patio for tapas, drinks or dinner was lovely. Breakfast was incredible! So many options. Beds very comfortable and nice balcony. Bathroom large and spacious. However there was black mold/mildew along seams of walk in shower where glass meets the shower floor. Long hallways to room are not air conditioned so very stuffy in halls and near eievators. Hotel high up at top of hill so not ideal for anyone to walk to or from if mobility challenges.

MP Nova Lounge is an average hotel. I particularly like the adult friendly nature of the hotel and its clean environment. The breakfast entertainment was very good. To improve and make the hotel a truly four star hotel, the hotel should provide drinking water, toothpaste , milk for tea and coffee in the room as part of the paid stay. As the hotel provides sauna and steam room, guests should all have a robe for these facilities. His recommendations should uplift the hotel’s reputation. Thank you.

Good but could be better
Overall a reasonably good hotel. Rooms are a little tired and the pool area could do with some TLC. The pool wasnt cleaned very well and was constantly full of dead flies so not very inviting. On 3 occasions the water went off in the hotel, this was invariably early evening when people wanted to shower. One time I was in the shower, covered in shampoo and soap, very inconvenient. Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was very good and the pianist playing at breakfast was a lovely touch.

Excellent access to Tavira
This was a return visit. I enjoy the spa facilities particularly and easy access to tge centre of Tavira. Access to the local beach by ferry is very important to me as i enjoy the long walks and solitude.
