This was a great accommodation in a large hotel complex that was walking distance to the center. We had a suite with a king bed and large sitting area. Parking was easy onsite with spots in front of the hotel and in a parking garage. The buffet breakfast was very good. We visited in winter and it was very rainy and windy but there were several people there to golf. The rooftop bar was very nice with views of the city. Recommend it.

Fantastic location in the beautiful town of Tavira! This is a very busy hotel with a lively atmosphere and a bustling dining room. The property sees a lot of use, and common areas can feel crowded at peak times. Parking is limited, with a €5 fee for the secure garage. The room was clean but quite noisy. Since it wasn’t a city or river-facing room, it overlooked the neighborhood. While the walls were thick, noise still carried easily, making it possible to hear conversations and movement from nearby rooms and hallways. Tavira itself is a charming destination with its historic architecture, picturesque streets, and stunning coastline, making it worth the visit despite the hotel’s drawbacks.

We loved our 3 night stay in AP Maria Nova Lounge. We had a pool view room which had all the amenities and space you could need and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The choice and quality of food at breakfast were excellent and the gentleman playing the piano was a lovely addition. Whilst we didn't have an evening meal at the hotel because there was so much choice in town, which was a stone's throw away, we did go up to the bar on occassion which had wonderful views across Tavira and was reasonably priced. Finally the swimming pools and spa facilities were the icing on the cake! Yes there are some building works going on in the area but thay didn't stop our enjoyment and we would definitely go back.

Staying in the deluxe room with the jacuzzi on the patio was a must. It’s a short walk to town although the restaurant food quality was a bit disappointing and restaurants were empty due to the season. We didn’t dine at hotel. However we capped off each night with a drink in the hotel’s fabulous rooftop bar. The hotel was almost empty so it was surprising we had to wait for our room( we arrived early) but they kept saying not ready when when we finally came back at the specified check in time there was a lineup and then we had to wait even longer. However the gentleman at check in was helpful when we were trying to get a package delivered.

January jaunt

A truly wonderful hotel, staff super friendly and helpful, breakfast excellent except for the bacon. There was nothing wrong with it but I would prefer lean back bacon not thin streaky bacon. Hotel is in a good position, easy walk into town and handy for bus stops. Great for a long weekend winter stay.

My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon in Portugal and we were so happy with our stay at Maria Nova Lounge. They offered us a complimentary upgrade which was very much appreciated! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the shower - there was no way to close the door and water got everywhere. I also didn’t like that there was a 2 in one (body wash, shampoo) for the shower. It would’ve been nice to have two separate. The food was fine but we especially liked the set menu on the rooftop! Definitely recommend doing that if you have the half board rather than the buffet for dinner. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back!

Perfectly located the property has a boutique touch although it is looking like gigantic Hotel on photos and in reality. Everything was fine apart from one waiter at the breakfast that was a bit rude but this didn't downplay our beautiful stay in Tavira 3 days

Upon arrival, I was warmly and promptly greeted. When I went to my room, there was a moldy odor. I went back to the front desk to express my concern, and they moved me to another room. Other than that, the day was pleasant and I appreciated the complementary bottle of wine. The property is quiet with a beautiful view of the town. The buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful with a lovely touch of a pianist playing throughout the meal. The rooftop bar was a pleasure with delicious food and drink. I especially appreciated the warm welcome by Jonathan.
