Our first time in Temecula. Made it our "excursion" from Palm Springs and traveled there via the very scenic "Pines to Palms" highway (just take Monterey Avenue south and keep going).
Easy walking distance from Motel 6 to Old Town Temecula. We didn't expect to spend much time in our room, other than to sleep. So met our expectations. Pool did not appear to be heated, but we didn't have much time for that anyway.
Also, only a short drive (approx. 10 mins.) to Temecula wineries via adjacent Rancho California Road. We started at Miramonte which is a terrific venue for wine, food, and view. Then Bella Vista (just up the road, one of the original wineries) with very friendly staff and live music. Finishing, on the way back, at Europa Village (a number of wineries clustered together). So Motel 6 was a perfect and very affordable location to facilitate both the Old Towne and Winery experiences.
