This is a great place to stay. I would suggest planning any way possible to avoid thunder bay if you are a traveler but if you absolutely must stay in junkie Thunder bay then this place id a safe place to stay with no one hanging around drinking outside. I strongly dislike staying in thunder bay and at many other hotels like Valhalla i have had confrontations with locals over nothing. This place is like a haven outside of the town a little bit. It is expensive but it is worth it if you dont want to get in a fight outside or your stuff stolen. Strongly recommended.

Loved how welcoming and kind the Staff was. As my first visit to thunder bay, they ensured i had a proper experience and had a great scenic view from my room. The restaurant was great, friendly and open staff; very relaxed but also very professional. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit!

The walls of this hotel are extremely thin. You can hear everyone in the hallway and in the next rooms. The hvac unit is also extremely loud so if you can sleep with that kind of white noise it does drown out the other noises. I could not. Bfast is included but it’s in the restaurant and not self serve. If you’re in a hurry forget it. I waited over 5 minutes just to be seated - no one came. So I went in search of a coffee elsewhere in the hotel - found a coffee unit in front of registration but no cups. When I asked for one I was told you have to go to the restaurant for coffee - this coffee station is only available until 7 am.

Free breakfast was good and had great selection. Front desk staff was friendly. Our breakfast however did take a while to come out on the second morning and was cold by the time we got it. There was a dog howling on the second morning (possibly thin walls).
