This is the WORST experience we had booking with hotel.com. The rating is totally rigged! The rooms are big with a king and a queen bed in two rooms. The kitchen is nonfunctional and smells. It’s dirtier than a motel in the US. Very dated fixtures, dirty carpet, dirty and stinky bathroom and kitchen. Very poor fluorescent lightings, small towels and not well cleaned. The beds are ok but nothing special. The most ridiculous thing is we had to ask toilet paper from the front desk they pulled out from a box and handed to us like this was the most natural thing! There’s no lobby but only a small entrance. No Hotel restaurant. Location is good but the street is a one way street which makes it hard to get taxis. The price is a total ripoff. I heard later real 3 Star Hotel nearby only cost half. We only stayed one night instead of the two we booked. Very disappointed, Hotel.com. One more suggestion. Try to find a local person to book a hotel is you're going to China, especially anywhere other than Beijing and Shanghai.
This is hotel is total disaster. The whole building and furniture look very cheap and dirty. There are big stain on the sofa and chairs that I can not even sit down on them. There is no non-smoking room in the entire whole. None of the staff can speak English. It is much worth than most of the cheap motels in North America but somehow Expedia put it in the "Four Star" category which is very misleading. I booked three nights at this hotel but could not stand it at all. I called Expedia right away to cancel the rest two nights and Expedia did it. This is the only good part. I highly suggest Expedia moved this hotel from the list since this is not even a "one star" hotel. It is for the poor local people but definitely not for people from outside China. Hotel staff can not communicate with clients at all. Other than that, non-smoking room does not mean anything to them. They just spry some perfume to the smoking room and assume it becomes non-smoking room. They have no common sense and any idea of hotel requests. Please Please Please remove this hotel from the list since I don't want anyone else to have such a bad experience like me.
Located quietly behind a shopping mall Area. Away from the crowd yet easily access to all the malls. 3 mins walk to the nearest MRT station. Simple and decent apartment with kitchen and living room. A pretty good price to accomodate my family of 4 paxs. The Front counter lady staff is both friendly and helpful. Although nothjng fantastic about the apartment, but definitely value for money.

+. The hotel made a mistake and upgraded me and the bathroom was quite nice. The location is good and rate acceptable.
_ The room I was given first smelled of smoke. The halls and some things in disrepair. The towels were worn. It is not so foreigner friendly. There was very little service. The Internet was not working for half my stay of four days.
It did accept my pet with no extra charge. Overall it was okay.

The hotel picture is an artist rendering, not real
First, let me say that I like this hotel for it's price point and the large apartment rooms. This is a place I will return. Just understand that this hotel is undergoing a full renovation, no breakfast etc. I was unhappy initially at the actual look and feel compared to the picture they gave Expedia. Very different than the picture represented. No non-smoking rooms for now. Air con works great which is highly unusual for China. Outstanding location. Very helpful to have an excellent dry cleaners next door and Starbucks a block away. The rooms are decent but brace yourself for the hallway and lobby. Room cleanliness is very average. The nearby church bells go off at 6am but it is tolerable. The staff is effective if you are patient. They were generally helpful when needed.
Stayed at this hotel twice during the holidays. Rooms are big, many restaurants and shops nearby. Cable TV stations include HBO and MTV, among others. Close to the subway station.
Very dirty carpets. Looks never cleaned. They do need replace new carpets. Comfortable bedding! Nice hotel staff but still need training to be the best.
Rotten floor, dirty carpet, small room, nothing matches with pictures on website. It says 70m2 room but it looked way small than 7m2. But staff said that was it! Very disappointed.
All of the reception staff spoke superb English. The room was perfect, lots of space and very comfortable. I will stay here again the next time I visit Tianjin.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Tianjin Modena
Hotel location is good, near malls and eateries. Though hotel is not new, cleanliness is still acceptable.
I stayed 3nights there. The location is okay. There are several shopping malls around there. And room was very good. I would be stay longer when i visit to Tianjin next time.
Hotel offered rooms in an apartment building so it was very roomy with kitchen facilities. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful and spoke enough English so there were no misunderstandings. Be prepared for a required $ deposit for every night you stay and they ask for it in cash, it is returned at the end but plan for it so you are not caught short. Overall a very satisfying stay and will stay there again!
There was enough space to relax and put our suite cases. Unfortunately, there was no bathtub and balcony as described on Hotels.com's website. I asked the hotel personals, they said that none of their room has bathtubs and only one of the 3rd floor room has balcony. So Hotels.com should change on their website. The location is fine. Most of the places we wanted to see are reachable by taxi around 8-12 yuan. There is a "Home Cooking"restaurant on the side street behind the hotel. The servings are so big and at reasonable price. Also tasted good. We had it packed and brought it back to our apartment for the next 2 meals. To get there, you will walk through some shabby sidewalks. We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. Also did our laundry there since it was our mid-trip stop.
Very good location near to shopping mall and subway. Booked a 2-bedroom deluxe for 2 adults, 3 kids and it was quite spacious. Now comes with free Wifi and although my family didn't use the facilities, we could feel that they put in extra efforts to make their guests comfortable. Complimentary drinks at the lobby, clean towers and distilled drinking water provided at the gym are just some good examples. My only concern is the cleanliness (eg. there are liquid stains on the sofa set) and the bathroom flushing is faulty but really not a big deal. other than that, it's worth every penny.
