Excellent service, the hotel is exactly as described. The area around the hotel is full of idem gems, with a lot less tourists than in downtown Tokyo (which is also conveniently close by)

We arrived at 14:10 hoping to get an early check in because we were in town for a wedding and needed to prepare. The staff refused to allow us to check in without paying additional fees even for only 30 minutes early. The heaters did not work in the room untill midnight and they kept disturbing us with loud announcements. Carpets are dirty in the rooms. Avoid this hotel unless absolutely necessary.

There was no prior written notice that you will be charged 2000 yen if you check out 20 mins later than 10:00 am, sometimes you travel with the little ones, unexpected situation happens, mine was not having a great start of the morning, he was feeling sick, and check out got delayed because of that, even I explained multiple times to the front desk, they didn’t care at all, there was no human compassion or sympathy! All they cared was to charge me 2000 yen for that extra time. Never had I been charged for late check out, usually hotels will accommodate for late checkout, probably more common to charge you in Japan. So for families with kids that need flexibilities of checkout, this is not the place to stay. Their room is also very small, you will have problems storing 2 big suitcases, luckily we had 2 carryons only. Will not recommend this hotel, also will not book it in the future!

Overall the stay was good at APA, rooms being tiny which is standard to stays is Japan takes time to get used to but it has everything you need. The best part about this property is the location Its only roughly 400 metres walking from Hiro station in Hibiya line which is super convenient if you want to be closer to Shibuya which is just 1 line change from hiro to Ebisu to JY line. The location has Aoen supermart right opposite to it and multiple u eleven around the corner. The location also has Luup bike stations around. Check and check out is very seamless. If you are looking to be close but away from the hustle bustle then this is great location to stay.

Coming from Las Vegas, I didn’t expect much. I was very aware going into this that the room would be very small and just provide the basics which it does perfectly fine for the price (You can’t compare this to anything in the states, let alone Las Vegas as it would be unfair lol) Staff is friendly and very helpful upon arrival and through the stay. Room cleanliness is the biggest one for me. Although I stayed on a non smoking floor, the room still smelled of smoke. AC is co trolled by the propriety and not by you. It was very stuffy and hot although it was cold outside. I slept with the window open every night I was there. Bed was not the most comfortable but doesn’t really matter when you’re exhausted from walking all day so that was whatever. Carpets were dirty, stains on the curtains and some sheets. Definitely is mold growing in the restrooms ( Ive read this is common as restrooms here do not have great ventilation but it still gross. I was there for a week and in that week I def saw new stuff growing ) The maids do not really clean your room so much as organize things and then give you a new pack of towels every night (which is cool I guess. Least they could do) Area around is safe , great , and convenient l. If you’re on a budget and understand you’re really just sleeping in this place then it works. If you have a extra money and you care about being comfortable no matter if you’re in the room all day or for 10 minutes only and to sleep, def get a better room

Only two stops on the Hibiya line to Nakameguro and a 20 min walk to the largest Starbucks Reserve for morning coffee, this APA is the quaint little sister of the larger Ropppngi Resort. While no onsen on the premises the neighborhood amenities and proximity to exploring the south western parts of Tokyo make it a great choice for those who have already done the major tourist traps and want to see a different side of Tokyo. The refills of necessities hanging on the door after returning from exploring was nice to see. And the staff were more than respectable upon check in and checking out. Easy to get to the airports as the Hibiya line connects to Ueno for Narita and Higashi Ginza for Haneda. Thanks for making my two weeks there feel like home. I love Hiro-o and hope to be back soon!
